Sen. Rand Paul praised House conservatives for blocking the Obamacare repeal bill Thursday, but said the White House could easily break the impasse if it would agree to send Vice President Mike Pence up to preside over the eventual Senate debate. Mr. Paul said that would give Republicans a chance to head off the parliamentarian and reinterpret the budget process rules that have tied GOP leaders’ hands in what kind of bill they’re able to bring to the floor while avoiding a Democratic filibuster. “That alone I think would break the logjam and get things going,” Mr. Paul, Kentucky Republican, told reporters. Having the presiding officer reject the parliamentarian’s recommendations for interpreting budget rules would be an aggressive maneuver that would break decades of Senate precedent, though it has happened in the past.

It’s not a blockade of an appeal of Obamacare ... it’s a blockade of a bill that isn’t much different from Obamacare. They need to come up with a workable solution and get this crap done already.
Repeal Obamacare then make some common sense small pieces of legislation. Insurance across state lines etc. Rand Paul is 100% correct here.

This is a win for the Conservatives & Libertians. Just heard Brit (rhymes with twit) Baier of Fox say that Obama was the big winner this week. Baier is claiming Obama care is here to stay. What an idiot. Obama care is going to be repealed first before replacing it.

I’d like to give Trump a victory (assuming he really wants repeal) but NOT at the cost of permanent acceptance of Obamacare /Ryancare.
We all KNOW that is what would occur.
There is no chance in hell there will be “stage 2 and stage 3” in Obamacare repeal.
So Rand Paul wants to nuke the filibuster. That’s a game changer all right. And the next time the Democrats control Congress and the WH, we will have the entire leftist agenda crammed through. People who are applauding RP on this need be clear that this is the future they accept.
Agree... part 2 and part 3 were not going to be done. Fox is already saying Trump probably won’t be able to get tax reform done either since it needs 60 in senate. He’s already a lame duck and it’s going to be a blood bath in 2018
