To: Trump20162020

Please identify the constitutional provision requiring 60 votes. I am well familiar with Article I, Section 5 “Each House may determine the rules of its proceedings...” but not familiar with the qualifier “as the NYT may direct.”

It’s a living document, so the NYT Editorial Board breathed a new life into that ancient document written by racist slave-owning gun nuts.

If I were in McConnell’s shoes I would pass a Senate rule that says any Senator who voted to confirm Gorsuch to his current appellate court seat will be counted as a “Yes” vote in this confirmation process. He was confirmed unanimously to that post, so that should get him way over 60 votes this time around.
