Starbucks Corp. plans to hire more U.S. military veterans and their spouses after facing backlash over its promise to hire refugees.
Presiding over his last annual shareholders meeting as chief executive on Wednesday, Howard Schultz said Starbucks will hire 15,000 veterans and their spouses by 2025, on top of more than 10,000 hired since a pledge he made four years ago.
The new drive comes after some customers threatened to boycott Starbucks for its January pledge to hire 10,000 refugees globally over the next five years. The coffee giant made the commitment following President Donald Trumps first executive order, banning refugees from seven Muslim-majority countries.

I hope they got he way of Sears and Payless.
Exactly. You nailed it!
F**K Starbucks....They tried to hire the Muzzies and when that backfired, they changed their narrative - BOYCOTT SB NOW!
Too late.
So...Vets come in 2nd to refugees? I don’t think so!
And then as a flimsy gesture to try and save their asses?
Starbucks is toast...and I hope their toast is better than that mud they call coffee.
No self-respecting Vet would work there.
Well, STARBUCKS, if MUZZIES are still using their left hands
for toilet paper instead of Charmin; YUK. Now, that MAY
have changed in the 50 yrs. since Fang was stationed over
there & waving at anyone with your left hand was an INSULT.
At least, vets use Charmin. Muzzies? I don’t know. (Arafat’s
hands did look awful dirty in some of the last photos I
saw of him.)
For many of us, this is too little, too late.
They should have done this in the first place. Instead, they chose refugees. Refugees that haven’t been properly vetted. Refugees that might want to run us over with their car. And after they crash their car, they get out and start stabbing people.
Starbucks, you have successfully screwed the pooch.
And, your coffee sucks.
Absolutely, do not trust them. The outgoing CEO who stirred up this controversy in the first place, Howard Schultz, is not leaving the company - he's moving to the position of Executive Chairman. As long as he's there, no successor will be able to successfully change the corporate policies.
BTW, he states that his proclamation regarding hiring the refugees was done "out of compassion and humanity" and "wasn't about politics at all." He was a big Clinton supporter, so everyone else can do the math. Sorry, Howard - peddle your burned beans elsewhere.
“Our ex-military working side by side with the Syrian refugees (ex-al Qaeda).”
I bet they figure by 2025 our military will be fully PC’d over.
I got a starbucks gift card for being a team that got things accomplished at work. I have used it maybe 2 or 3 times. Thinking of cutting it up and giving it to them at the drive through.
Lyin bast$%/ds.
I will never go there again, nor neimans, macys, Nordstrom etc.
Well, I don’t think they’re right, and I’m sure you agree.
Don’t do that - it essentially gives to SB the remaining value on the card.
Either give it away or use it to buy stuff to give away.
Black Rifle Coffee Company made Charbucks kneel.

Then it is free money for them, as the card value has already been paid. Go to the window, max it out, and pour out the product right there on the road. Tell them why. Maybe have someone record it and put it on youtube. I’ve gotten to the point I want to see leftist political companies struggle and fail.
Well, I dont think theyre right, and Im sure you agree.
True, but I am anxious to see how soon and at what pace this hiring takes place. Or if its 90% backlogged to 2025.

My thoughts exactly.
Yes, it will be interesting to see.
I never threaten.
After ten years using a Starbucks card, I cancelled mine almost a month ago.
Still haven't found a convenient alternate source.
