Budget: Let's start with a basic fact. Contrary to news reports last week, President Trump is not eliminating funding for Meals on Wheels. He's not even cutting it.
How do we know this? Meals on Wheels says so. A statement issued by Meals on Wheels America on Thursday notes that 35% of the revenues at the 5,000 or so local Meals on Wheels programs come via the Older Americans Act Nutrition Program.
Trump's budget outline says nothing about this program whatsoever.
What Trump's budget does propose is cutting is the corruption-prone Community Development Block Grant program, run out of Housing and Urban Development. Some state and local governments use some of that grant money, at their own discretion, to "augment funding for Meals on Wheels," according to the statement.
Nevertheless, when the New York Times reported on Trump's budget last Wednesday, they dispensed with such details, and simply said that CDBG "funds popular programs like Meals on Wheels, housing assistance and other community assistance efforts."
This misleading shorthand quickly turned into "Trump wants to kill Meals on Wheels."
Time magazine, for example, blared that Trump's budget "would kill a program that feeds 2.4 million senior citizens." The Hill said it "eliminates funds for Meals on Wheels." A local Dallas station reported that the program would lose "all of its federal funding." Others claimed falsely that Trump's budget director said Meals on Wheels wasn't worth funding because it didn't get results.

Look. Get used to it. Understand that this is NEVER going to stop no matter what. Most of the MSM has thrown off an pretense of being fair or objective or off not actively working for the far left opposition party.
Meals on wheels meme stuck. Facts dont matter. People here dont believe me thaT these 3 million dollar jaunts every weekend to florida are going to hurt trump...but they are going to hit him hard with that expenditure as he cuts funding
Like
your trip to florida could have fed x amount of seniors
Plus all the videos of him mocking obama for whAt he himself is doing
CDBG while in part may be used by states and localities to donate to Meals on Wheeels, it is also in part a political slush fund CREATING a “community development” not-for-profit industry that MANUFACTURES “community development” projects, spends more of their paid time for “advocacy” of “community development” projects than actually creating “community development”.
CDBG has become a funnel for funding the POLITICS of demanding federal money and role for “community development”. The advocates of “community development” industry as recipients of the grants from CDBG programs are the LARGEST recipients of the CDBG in terms of what they have “achieved”, because it is NOT there in “community developments” equal to the many billions spent on it.
If some in Congress want to keep Meals on Wheels receiving what it has been getting in donations via the CDBG program (I think it is a well run program), they can do so by adding to the direct federal funding for it the amount that will be lost to it out of the CDBGrants.
This needs to be shared and posted all over social media to counteract the lies of the leftist fake news rags and lying leftists in general.

I just put it on Facebook. No one ever comments when I do stuff like this so I don’t know if it’s effective or not, but I try.
I was listening to a local talk show Today and the host (conservative) is taking call on the Meals on Wheels defunding. Liberal calls in spins it five different ways but always saying “...you would (or want to) write them off.” Very next call guy says his retired father volunteered to deliver meals on wheels in Florida, but quit the second day after delivering to a million dollar beach house. The next call, a visiting nurse, from her experience the trays are simply thrown out or in the rare event the meals are eaten they create obesity issues.
Host: “well... there you have it folks”.
They are crying about Sesame Street on PBS too when it is now owned by HBO and PBS only shows reruns and not all the PBS stations even show the reruns.
Yep, a subject of an IBD commentary last week.
