FBI Director James Comey’s testimony Monday that the bureau has been quietly investigating possible links between associates of President Donald Trump and Russian officials since the summer enraged Democrats who already blame him for rattling the 2016 campaign’s closing days.
For the first time, Comey confirmed that the FBI had opened a probe into the Trump campaign in July, the same month he called an unusual news conference to announce the agency had finished its investigation into whether Hillary Clinton mishandled classified information — and three months before he scrambled the White House race a second time by announcing that the Clinton probe was continuing just days before the election.

I*d like to know why he keeps deciding that he has to announce the existence of investigations, the decision not to recommend indictments, etc. He said this was in the public interest. Why?

The breach of norms that caused the defeat were her lying, deceit, pay for play, A criminal enterprise family charity, a less than honest campaign, flawed ideas and plans for the USA, and abuse of the system foisted on the American public by crooked Hillary.
I noticed something very odd. Comey said at the outset he was there “representing the men and women of the FBI.” What?? Isn’t he there testifying at the request of Congress and in his role as FBI Director? Why was he talking about representing his people??
I think he’s acting to cover the tracks of FBI personnel who were out investigating Trump which was highly questionable.
Podesta saw he was to enter a password, and got all blathered when reading letters 2-4.
I heard him say that the Russians hated Hillary. I thought that comment was WAYYYY out of bounds. For a man that is supposed to follow the laws, and the rules, that was beyond speculation it was an editorial aimed directly against the Russians, Putin and Trump. It was if the entire speculation about contacts and the results were facts, similar to the consensus on Globull Warming.
To me, Comey’s main rationale for investigating Trump was an assumption that if the Russians hated Clinton, they would REALLY want Trump elected.
Therefore, ANY contact a member of “team Trump” might have made with them would HAVE to be “considered collusion”!
Wish someone on our side of the aisle had questioned that assumption!
