Connecticut [State Sen] Kennedy Thinks State Should Own Your Organs

Connecticut State Sen. Ted Kennedy Jr. (D-Branford) — son of former U.S. Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.) — wants to give state government control over what happens to citizens’ organs after they die.

Kennedy recently introduced SB 750, which would automatically enroll Connecticut’s citizens in the organ donation program.

So, I wonder how much the state would make from this?

Is this a ripe new area for kickbacks?

Will the family see a dime? assuming they didn’t want the corpse buried intact.

So now demoncrats want to not only control your life, but your body in death too.

Another Kennedy and an “organ”. Gee, wasn’t Mary Jo Kopechne enough?

And then there was the Sen. Chris “Sandinista” Dodd (D-Ct) and Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass) in their famous “waitress sandwich” down on Massachusetts Avenue. I’ll bet that they were playing with some “organs” way back then, and not just theirs’.

Is there a sane Kennedy anywhere in the bunch or is this political/sexual insanity a totally inherited thingy?

I knew it would come to this....once they get that "right" then expect a very quick uptick in denying people certain life saving treatments...

I'll poison myself before I let them divvy up my parts....

It might just be your cold dead body if you need an organ transplant and none is available.

You might recall the flap over Vice President Dick Cheney when he received someone's heart and the argument was who died in his place? Did Cheney pull strings? Are we supporting a black market in places like China just as we support poppy growth in Afghanistan with our demand for organs and heroin? If there are sufficient organs to go around, lives are saved and a black market involving forced extraction of organs might be reduced in places like China.

The practice is the law now in Austria and it seems to be working just fine. The proposed law in Connecticut permits the individual to opt out of the program at will. I have some concern that the privacy of the individual will not be respected given the leaks we have seen from gun registries etc. and the leaks we have seen of government records concerning individuals in the Trump administration.

I think our criticism should be less reflexively anti-Kennedy, however deserved even unto the 10th generation, and more thoughtful.

Add into this the fact that organs donated from someone who has died are not good. That is why the medical industry has invented this fantasy of “brain death”. They did this for the simple reason that if they waited for actual death, the organs go to waste......believe it or not.....

They’re looking for every angle to _own_ you. Lock, stock, and barrel.

Wouldn’t surprise me if they decide that if the state has given (welfare, entitlements, training, whatever) more to a body than a body has produced, they’ll say they have an “investment” in the body and have a “right” to seek any return on it.

When JFK was alive our schools taught us that in Communism the government owns the people but that here in America the people own the government.

The RATs have always had a thing about owning people.

Once the organs are harvested, the rest can be used for food.

It may “work” in Austria but I don’t think their medical system works for profit. I refuse to be an organ donor until they decide to pay my children for the organs. Everyone in the process here gets paid big bucks for a transplant operation. The doctors, nurses, anesthesiologists, hospital, etc. ALL make money off of the dead. Why shouldn’t my family, as well?

Before running for office they all need to undergo a mental test and it should be published for all to see

I for one have will certainly never consciously be caught on the wrong side of the capitalism issue, I approve thoroughly of entrepreneurialism. So I do not begrudge anyone making a profit off a legal activity, indeed, that is how we encourage legal activities so that we become the best at transplanting in the world. I do not know if the Austrian transplanters of organs are as good as the Americans with the technique, but they do operate their medical system for profit, though overregulated. If you can find a way to make an honest profit for yourself or your family on your body parts, please let me know and I will do it too.

Perhaps we could both agree that the family receive a market price for organs but we must be careful not to encourage the death industry to harvest parts illegally because that would get us back close to forced organ extraction from live victims. However, if enough people failed to opt out of the Kennedy program, the supply of organs would so greatly increase that the price would inevitably be greatly reduced which would, in my view, be a very desirable result.

Meanwhile, if the best we can get is the (gasp!) Kennedy proposal, even without provision for profit, I am for it as would no doubt those whose lives will be saved and it still leaves you free to opt out until a profit can be made.

It’s not just liberal strongholds where this is occuring. Sadly, misguided TX state representative Jason Villalba (R) introduced similar legislation. Presently in Texas, to be an organ donor, one must opt in (by checking a box when applying/renewing for your drivers license). This representative wants to change it to where you must OPT OUT of being an organ donor. This disturbs me greatly. He may have submitted the bill with noble intentions, but the road to Hell is paved with good intentions. Even the organization Donate Life Texas is against the proposed legislation, fearing substantial negative backlash. If the bill passes and even a single unwilling ‘donor’ has his/her organs transplanted, there will be a tsunami of negative press and a sh*tstorm of lawsuits. The acceptance of organ donation would be set back decades.

Sounds like it should be a moneymaker.
“The Burke and Hare murders were a series of 16 murders committed over a period of about ten months in 1828 in Edinburgh, Scotland. The killings were undertaken by William Burke and William Hare, who sold the corpses to Doctor Robert Knox for dissection at his anatomy lectures.” Wikipedia
.......
If Planned Murderhood can to the unborn, why should live grownups be exempt?
