Boycotts and this kind of rhetoric is how it started in 1933. Still think it can’t happen here?

That campus must be littered with security cameras. It wouldn’t be very hard to find out who put the flyers out and if they were enrolled in the scholl, to expel them. The administration doesn’t persue this because they don’t want to.

Is this just part of the game to make it look like Donald Trump is somehow behind the hatred of Jews?

And this type of thing is the end result of campus Jewish groups spending years trying to make common cause with liberal and minority groups.

Where did the "1%" rhetoric come from? As I recall it came from the Occupy movement, and was given a national platform by Bernie Sanders, himself Jewish.

The Occupy Movement, in turn, was created by the Canadian far-left movement magazine Ad Busters. The Wikipedia article on the magazine lists these 4 people as the leaders:

Ideas have authors. Ideas have consequences. Either the 1% is a reasonable shorthand for talking about social inequality, or it's not. If it is then it certainly makes sense to talk about who makes up the 1%.

If it's not a useful idea for talking about social inequality then: where were people in condemning it over the last five or six years, as it's become almost a household term?

The same is even more true of the concept of White privilege.

Did Lonnie Nasatir, the regional director for the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), at any point make any statements against scapegoating the 1%? About the nefarious concept of White privilege which demonizes an entire group based on ethnic identity?

Will Lonnie Nasatir even now denounce it?

Doing a little web searching it's interesting to see that earlier this month the the school was promoting a speech about a far-left reporter, and the promotion freely used the terms "white privilege" and "male privilege". The link can be found here The flyer ends:

Questions of race and sex split open American society, revealing both its dark underbelly, as well as opening eyes, freeing imaginations, and putting white privilege and male privilege (not to mention U.S. national privilege) on the defensive. Halsell’s world view, schooled in Cold War liberalism, Southern paternalism & white supremacy, and domesticity, begins to unravel especially after her stint in Vietnam, and even more so when she turns her attention to the U.S., its ghettos, reservations, borders – and finally to Palestine.

In their statement the administration decries the message of the posters - but at the same time is promoting nearly identical messages in lectures, and presumably other class room material.

Why the double standard? Why is it OK for some people to continually make broad generalizations about one group, White people, of extremely dubious accuracy (there are many poor whites in America who experience no privilege in their lives) but a campus crisis when another group makes similar, dubiously accurate, statements about another group.

The double standard is obvious and appalling.

Did you guys catch the special last night on cant remember was it discovery or History channel, they interviewed WWII men who were still alive decribing d-day events and how they felt taht day. What brave souls they are Freepers what GREAT men!

The show acutally detailed the day and what the men where up against with the Nazis.

With rubber bullets the men reinacted D-Day actually using the vehicle drive up to a beach reinact the running up the beach and the deaths. Once they got up the beach the nazis had rows of barbed wire so the men were trapped!! They deveolped pipe bombs to destroy the barbed wire. I upshotted here for brevity.

My point is as I was watching I saying to myself, Islam is our nazi.

Gosh Darn It!

...declaring that “Ending white privilege...starts with ending Jewish privilege.”

You're right - the mask's coming off... Seems people have forgotten two of the three civil rights workers murdered in 1964 Mississippi were young Jewish freedom fighters.

Want to see the liberal snowflakes really show their Anti-Jew hatred?

Disgusting.

As an aside, likewise a few years ago at Carnegie Mellon some students built a fence in the common yard and painted it with Palestinian colors and Death to Israel. Wonder if it’s gotten even worse there?

So much for “tolerance” and “diversity”.

Of course we need the poster.

Beyond that, while I hate to throw cold water, again, on the "semitic race" commentary, the fact is for nearly three centuries it has been a solely linguistic term, like Hispanic. It referred to people who spoke semitic languages. Today Hebrew ranks as #4 on the list, headed by Arabic, then Amharic, next Tigrinya. The latter two spoken in the Horn of Africa, mostly Ethopia and Tigrinya in Eritrea as well. And there's Aramaic, think middle eastern particularly Syrian and I believe Iraqi Christians. And Malta. Add the Kurds and others, and well most Ethopian semites don't share the same race as most Jews.

Did I say Hispanic? For a few thousand years, residents of Hispania. Not Aztlan. Over time speakers of the language of the peninsula, Spanish and Portugese. At one time Benjamin Cardozo, the second Jewish Supreme Court justice was the first Hispanic justice. Many Sephardic Jews descend from Hispanics. But things change, as racial preferences became popular they became a race, I believe Portugese was officially dropped from the definition by the census bureau under Jimmy Carter, who else.

But none of this matters. Even if "semite" was a distinct race, it wouldn't matter because the author of this poster hates Jews and whites. Probably a black lives matter guy. If it was a neo Nazi, it would be to end black privilege go after the Jews. BLM and white supremacists have a lot in common

“Anti-Semitic flyers appeared at the University of Illinois at Chicago Tuesday declaring that “Ending white privilege...starts with ending Jewish privilege.””

I retired from working at UIC about 13 years ago. The boycott Israel movement was just beginning to get traction there at the time. The campus has a very large contingent of Pali students, along with other Arab students, and I would periodically see them marching past the building I worked in, bullhorns in hand. It appears it has totally gotten out of hand at UIC with the anti-Jewish rhetoric and demonstrations . Very sad.

UIC is where Donald Trump had to cancel his rally in Chicago during his campaign because of organized demonstrations on campus.

As this story propagates, perhaps the best way to counter it is to call it “Neo-Nazi Propaganda”. Although it is most assuredly radical leftist propaganda, leftists are trained that their nasty behavior is somehow magically different than that of fascists.

And when leftists get spooked, they tend to blurt out things, like identifying themselves, that give away the game. And once they are not anonymous any more...
