New wrinkle in the wall: may need Congress to pass a bill to acquire the tribal lands for a wall. If Congress needs to pass something, filibuster is possible unless tied to "must pass" legislation.

I’m about to the point where I wouldn’t mind if Trump abolished congress and appointed himself king.

The border is international territory; therefore it is under the domain of the Feds.

...may need Congress to pass a bill to acquire the tribal lands for a wall.Build that part of the wall last.

I may be wrong, but I think I read that many people cannot even use their own land because of all the violence and cartels.
From what I’ve read, people have huge areas of their own property they don’t dare go on to.
I would think they would welcome a wall.
But I haven’t lived in TX in a long time.

In obtaining land Washington can't go cheap.Offer owners a sum which *anyone* can see as reasonable.Any challenges to such offers go to court. As for tribal land, same thing...reasonable offers or take it to court and/or Congress.
No individual...no group of individuals...no Party...must be allowed to stop this.

Think of Trump as the last polite attempt to restore our nation. We can’t let the rats have power ever again. It will be the end of the republic so there is not much to lose.

The federal government is very efficient with a “Declaration of Taking.”

I think here in NM that would be the case.

Build the wall around the tribal land and keep it on the other side.

Wasn’t there a couple killed, a few years back, while they were boating or something?
Btw, Mexico, with all due respect, I believe the US won the war with you.
Deal with it.
( that being said, I may be remembering my history wrong)

Those who are against the wall just go around and build the wall north of their property. If they want back in, they can find the big beautiful secure door.

The border is international territory; therefore it is under the domain of the Feds. I'm not sure that's true. There's a town in Northern Vermont that I pass through fairly regularly (Derby Line) that has an interesting history. It's right on the border.I've stepped right up to the little concrete "monument" indicating the border. No sign of my being in "international territory".I was standing in US territory...if I had taken one step forward I would have been in Canadian territory.
To: Timpanagos1
Didn’t Obama take a bunch of land by declaring it a monument or something?

There are parts were private land is right up against the border and those land owners are protected by the 5th Amendment.

Were the land owners compensated?
