Secretary of State Rex Tillerson wrote in a letter to nine nonprofit groups this week that the U.S. will leave the U.N. Human Rights Council unless the organization undertakes "considerable reform."
The UNHRC may be the silliest organization in the U.N. To allow countries like Iran, Cuba, Venezuela, and China to sit in judgment on any country's human rights record is beyond absurd. Somehow, the UNHRC never gets around to examining the human rights record of most of those states and, instead, concentrates its fire on the U.S. and Israel two of the most liberal, tolerant democracies in the world.

Nothing lasts forever.
I hope...
Tillerson knows that these scumbags aren’t going to change, so this is our out. These groups will get NOTHING. lol

Says it all right there.
make the UN great again! (as in the kind of institution it was before the Six Day War, when the USSR took the opportunity to make it into a bash USA/Israel forum at the behest of the Mooselimbs).
WOOHOO!!! Way.To.Go.T-Rex!!!
Find a new home for UN and without US as member.
“I’m liking this guy better every day. “
And he likes to fly alone, leaving “the press” to fly commercial if they want to cover him. Hope President Trump starts doing the same thing.
Even better- tillerson should have announced “We are leaving UNTIL you folks get your act together and stop with the anti-Semitism”
I’m with you.
Good
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson is setting us up for another win...
“And he likes to fly alone, leaving the press to fly commercial if they want to cover him. Hope President Trump starts doing the same thing.”
While Sec. Tillerson has the option of downsizing his aircraft the President does NOT.
AF1 sells seats to journalists for a ‘fair market’ value which helps defray a slight amount of the flight costs for AF1. As a businessman, President Trump would not remove the press as they do ‘pay’ for their seats.
Have a wonderful day.
I must have missed the part in the “rules and regs” as to why we should fly them around with our representatives. It is at their expense but who says we have to accommodate them? Is it in the same rule book that says presidential candidates must show their tax returns? Just sayin’.
I don't believe the press pays "fair market" prices for their rides on AF1. Even if they paid double what commercial first class costs, I don't think it would be enough. They're getting basically a free ride on our dime.
“AF1 sells seats to journalists for a fair market value which helps defray a slight amount of the flight costs for AF1. As a businessman, President Trump would not remove the press as they do pay for their seats.”
It isn’t about cost necessarily. These people do everything in their “power” to thwart, ridicule and obfuscate what President Trump is doing. So it follows that he should not make it easy for them. Sometimes it makes sense to spend a little money to avoid a problem. But I will say that since the President has to use AF-1, the press would scream bloody murder if they were kept off the plane. Kudos for Tillerson for doing what he’s done.
I guess we will be leaving.
Sec Tillerson is flying ‘alone’ because he chose a smaller jet.
The President CAN NOT choose a smaller jet.
The Press is relegated to a (stinky) section at the back, and the President has NO need to allow them to mingle out of their ‘area.’
