In the audiotape, recorded Oct. 10, 2016, Ryan told his fellow GOP legislators that ““I am not going to defend Donald Trump—not now, not in the future.” Ryan spoke shortly after the public heard the Access Hollywood tape of Trump’s conversation in which he said about women that “when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything.”

I am going to get flamed probably for this, but the context of this situation needs to be recalled.

I didn't stop supporting Trump in the wake of this episode, but Ryan wasn't talking about defending Trump in anything other than the context of these remarks. IIRC, even Melania had the same reaction.

Ryan may or may not be a weasel--but these remarks and the context within which they were spoken do not have anything to do with Trump and the current situation.

Let’s get real. Paul Ryan was selected because no one else wanted the job (including any member of the freedom caucus). It’s easy to shout about things so that’s where they want to be. They don’t want to have to make actual decisions and be forced to deal with the reality that, in order for a bill to pass, they will need to get the support of Collins AND Cruz

Ryan > McConnell

No sense getting rid of a bad leader when it just paves the way for someone worse.

Kevin McCarthy is worse than both of them.

I’d bet Ryan rolled on the floor laughing when he heard Dobb’s call for his resignation. They don’t care what the people think of them.

This is as an irreverent “revelation” as the Access Hollywood tape itself.

Dobbs should run for Congress in 2018 against Josh Gottheimer or Senate against Bob Menendez in New Jersey.

Gottheimer beat Scott Garrett.

You have to wonder how much influence Ryan’s wife has on him. She is a democrat who was a lawyer and lobbyist championing liberal causes. She is now a stay at home mom, but liberals almost never change.

If Ryan resigns, who would we get in his place?

He should be jailed

Remember when Ryan put some sort of breath mint in his mouth right before Trump’s speech before the joint session of congress.

I guess he figured he was going to have to kiss Trump’s behind at some point during the night and wanted it to be as fresh as possible.

I can virtually guarantee that Ryan is the first person in the history of this government who has done such a thing, the breath mint, not the a$$ kissing.

No one, especially freedom caucus, has the balls to oppose him.

Instead of PRO TRUMP rallies, we should start having "DUMP RYAN" rallies!

Pre-election, Ryan, like all the rest of the “intelligentsia” establishment bushie uni-party repubs, as well as apparently the entire clintoonian mega money operation of bubbled navel watchers....ALL assumed Trump would lose, and so, took this “position”. Until, of course Trump became, by definition, the leader of the Repub party, newly comprised, and kept Preibus on to “sort out the wheat from the chaff” of who would support him.
This points out what is true of all the Boehner bots, who will “run” one way and their actions being quite another. Let’s see whether the “binary decision” (Rand Paul’s quote of Ryan) Ryan gets the “ART of the Deal” when he meets with Trump. This cannot be bammy care lite, which would COOK the conservative caucus in re-election and be a lying irremovable sop for go-alongs in the fake conservative house re-elections (calculated to lose the House...against Trump on budget, and funding).

I was thinking at first that outside of Chuckie Shumer, that Ryan was the biggest piece of human excrement in Washington, DC. Then I got to thinking that Shumer is a Democrat, so there is at least some excuse for his behavior. Therefore, I hereby declare that Paul Ryan truly is the biggest piece of human excrement in Washington, DC.
