Preet Bharara says he was fired "moments ago." He reiterated that he did not resign his post as Manhattan's federal prosecutor.
"I did not resign," Bharara said in a tweet. "Moments ago I was fired. Being the US Attorney in SDNY will forever be the greatest honor of my professional life."

Nest up (I hope) will be some housecleaning in the top political layer of the FBI.
They are too often taking American jobs, then hire their friends in as well. They do not assimilate. This is especially true in IT and it is popping up everywhere. Every fresh face from India, just as one from Mexico, is one less American employed. They can all go home. Good riddance to them and anyone that defends them in the US. Besides, for India, they are one of the countries that do not accept back deportees. Defend that.
Not bitter, not bitter at all is he.
No pleading or groveling allowed
"Heading the list is Pareet Bharara, who served as chief counsel to Sen. Charles Schumer during the time the New York senator led the Democratic battle against the Bush administration for employing political considerations in hiring and firing at the Justice Department."
Yup. I'm really surprised that some here are defending Preet.
If so, that’s a mistake.
In the past few days I’ve read that he’s very tight with Schumer. That alone disqualifies him and makes him untrustworthy.
I wanted to see Trump tweet this “Hey, Bharra. You’re fired. That’s it. Go.” Perhaps dub that “thun-thun-thun-thun” music in the background just like on The Apprentice.
Classic.
He refused to resign
He was also on Obama’s short list for AG. I guess Lynch was just more corrupt.
Recently a man whose heritage was Indian ( no accent so think he was born here) basically saved my life...he is a rock star. I knew as soon as I met him that I was very lucky. I couldn’t care less where his parents came from.
While I’m sure he was doing good work, and there’s always a lot of good work being done, when the boss asks you to hand in your resignation, you do so, otherwise you will get fired. If he had offered his resignation and it wasn’t accepted, he could have kept going; not handing in his resignation resulted in the only meaningful response possible.
I don’t see how the president had any other option; his hand was forced.
BTW, I saw this in the Carter and Reagan administrations first hand...
If Cuomo and de Blasio think they just got some kind of pass, they are about to learn a new lesson in life.
"Trump fires New York Federal Attorney to protect his crooked NYC buddies"
D’Souza is celebrating today.
Trust NO DemonCrat - ever.
He might have been ‘investigating’ the various Democrats so he could deep six their prosecutions.
Where’s the contents of the Weiner laptop? I want SESSIONS to have that in his hands and I want it used against the criminals.
I’ve seen several liberal (ABC CNN etc.) complain about Preet getting fired.
That should tell you this guy was not our friend.
Glad to see him go.
Now Trump needs to do a 5% across the board — new hires (Obama people) fired first for ALL federal agencies.
Then keep cutting and cutting. Purge the government.
CNN (aka fake news channel) has a parade of lawyers expressing fake outrage because he was so “unbiased.”
CNN, their viewers and their parade of hard left lawyers wouldn’t see prosecution and persecution of conservatives as biased. I’m sure they feel that Dinesh is lucky he’s alive and in one piece.
