A group of Latina students at a ritzy private college in Southern California recently covered the exterior wall of a residence hall with a large graffiti-style message declaring: White Girl, Take OFF your hoops!!!
The scene of the spray-paint fracas is Pitzer College, reports the Claremont Independent, a student newspaper. Pitzer, a member of the five-school Claremont Consortium, charges $66,192 for a single year of tuition, fees and room and board.
The word hoops in the ultimatum from the Latina students refers to hoop earrings.

I’ve worn hoops all my life, especially when I had long hair, long before those little snots were even born! JERKS!!!! Think I’ll go out and get a few new pair.
If they don’t like “cultural appropriating”, then take that culture back to Central and South America.
These are college girls?
But they are stupid enough to think they invented the hoop ear ring?
And they aren't even astute enough to do a little internet search before they speak out
and show the entire world how shallow and ignorant they are.
Well in it works that way. It’s cultural appropriation for anybody but white people to use TVs, telephones, cars, flying in a plane, listen to radio, watch movies, use the internet, wear glasses, speak English (or Spanish) read and write in the Roman alphabet, excetera excetera excetera excetera excetera excetera excetera excetera excetera.....( even say excetera)
In fact using the word “Latina” ...Latina is a cultural appropriation of a word from a white language
I live in Charlotte, NC, which has a very high population of blacks. Most of the women I see daily have appropriated white hair coloring. I’ve seen black women with long platinum blonde hair, honey blonde hair, red hair and red or chestnut strands woven into their dreads and corn rows. Many of them wear wigs that are a range of white hair colors and styles. So who’s kidding who about this cultural appropriation nonsense?
I asked my grand daughter about this... she told me “wearing hoops is just asking for you to get your ear lobes ripped opened.” When asked to explain she said “snags” on anything fro hair brushes to branches etc... not recommended.
Bull. The circle is simply a form worldwide.
Why are these stupid people wasting everyone’s time, and I’ll bet, Pell Grant tax money.
they don’t flush the toilet!
Exactly. I have been wearing hoops since the late 60’s when my parents allowed me pierce my ears. I never stopped wearing hoops even from time to time when they seemed to go a little out of style. These girls are ignorant.
Great work!
Cultural appropriation? For most of American history an education was an Anglo thing. So...?
(Not saying he would want to... just asking.)
I guess these bigoted fools are not “wise ;latinas”. Instead, they are completely m oronic affirmative-action loser latinas. I wonder why you have to go to college if deportation is in you future.
I just wish these racists complaining about white folks and their cultural appropriation of everything they deem theirs and theirs alone would start screaming cultural appropriation when rap music is used by white producers of movies, tv show and commercials.
That is sad; the self-loathing of these black women who iron their hair to look like “white” hair must be deep...
Of all the accessories a woman can own, the hoop earring is one of the oldest forms of jewelry. They have been around for many years and have been worn by both men and women. Its use has dated back to many different places and cultures. Dating back to ancient Rome, Greece, and even ancient Sumerian culture. But Then the Mexicans DID invent Guacamole and MS-13, HEH HEH
Et cetera two words meaning (and other/more)

Hey I’m just using the dictation function on my phone I can’t help it if it spells it wrong ...
LOL The spell check doesn’t recognize many words I commonly use until I train it. My grammatical errors are ALL mine, though.
