Former top spy chief: 'No evidence' Trump campaign aides recruited by Russia
Yahoo News ^ | March 9, 2017 | BRIAN ROSS, JAMES GORDON MEEK and MATTHEW MOSK

Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper told ABC News he did not see anything to suggest that Russia successfully infiltrated Donald Trump’s presidential campaign or recruited any of Trump’s advisers – at least as of Jan. 20, when the retired three-star general left office.

"There was no evidence whatsoever, at the time, of collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russians," Clapper, a career intelligence officer, told ABC News' Brian Ross in an interview Monday for "World News Tonight."

The Clapper comments came amid a fight between the Trump administration and the FBI over the wiretapping claim the President made in a series of early morning tweets Saturday from his Palm Beach getaway, in which he accused former President Obama of wiretapping Trump Tower. The president compared it to the Watergate scandal but without backing that up with any explanation as to why he believes the eavesdropping occurred.

Even Obama loyalist Clapper admits there was no evidence whatsoever to support any of the lies spread by the Democrats and the media about Trump and Russia.

The question is why did it take him so long to say so publicly. Especially when the media was reporting that the "intelligence community" had evidence that Trump was colluding with Russia.

The entire narrative the left has built is collapsing faster than a detonated derelict highrise.

The Russian lies are nothing but diversionary to keep our nation from moving forward. Democrats desire for power is far greater than their desire to see Americans do well.

If “no evidence”

Then what basis for tapping?

Answer: there was no basis for.tapping.

The taps were baseless.

Therefore purely political.

This is becoming a game of semantics. The issue is was Trump monitored? Semantics come into it as soon as one tries to pin down exactly who did it, whom they were monitoring and what was the theory. Obama in true capo fashion just does everything through others with his deniability statement: I read it in the newspapers, first I heard of it excuse. They comes the who authorized it? “there was no FISA warrant for Trump monitoring”. Probably true, so either there was no warrant or the warrant was for a place or individual near him. Again deniability in that he was not the named subject or some other intelligence operation was used, not the FBI or NSA.

This will end up in a weasel hunt over POSs hiding behind semantics. The facts there was monitoring are not deniable though, we know that from the published transcripts.

Note how they ALWAYS qualify it with words like “at least as of...” or “yet” or “so far”.

This allowed them CYA while being able to keep the narrative rolling along.

Robbie Mook was on a Sunday show and he actually said, “We’ll never know if the Russians were colluding with Trump.” Which is exactly what they want. Can’t prove the unprovable.

This is becoming a game of semantics.

It's ALWAYS a game of sematics when democrats are involved. It all depends on what your definition of 'is' is.

Yep. He’s see’s this story unravelling under scrutiny and a complete lack of evidence so he goes into CYA mode. As long as the story “had legs” he was content to sit back and let the unsubstantiated rumors fly. While the Dems were benefitting, he remained silent.

Good comment. The Dems and their allies in the media are very slippery and deceptive. Their propaganda machine is, unfortunately, very effective.

There is no evidence Russia and Trump colluded. And believe me, we hacked every phone at Trump Tower and that’s how we know. Wait a second. Can we edit that out?

I saw that Mook piece on Sunday.

He might as well have said, "We 'll never know if those women were having sex with Trump, but...."

democRATS are not just scumbags. They are devious, lying scumbags.

Notice the change from "with no evidence" to "no evidence as to why he believes it happened". Going from "didn't happen" to "why he thinks it happened". 🤣🤣🤣

But that won’t stop the media from reporting it as FACT.

Just this morning there was a story about something related to Russia and with no connection whatsoever they remarked that this story was “just like when Russia stole the election” as if it was a proven fact.

TRUMP HAD BETTER HAVE AN ENTIRE TEAM DEDICATED TO STOPPING VOTER FRAUD

“The question is why did it take him so long to say so publicly.”

The damage is done. The Ministry of Propaganda has succeeded in spreading the lie and adding fuel to the anger and hatred of the the damn commies who want a coup.
