WikiLeaks' release of documents that provide details of alleged CIA hacking operations will be investigated by federal authorities, CNN reports.
Citing several U.S. officials, CNN claims the FBI and the CIA will coordinate their reviews of how WikiLeaks acquired the documents, which officials said are in CNN's words "largely genuine," and if more will follow. The officials have yet to determine how much of the release is accurate or if any have been altered before being released.

Jim,
Why the sudden investigation? Didn’t the FBI know about the theft of the CIA’s family jewels BEFORE the Wikileaks revelations?
If not, why not?
Did the CIA itself know about the thefts? If not, why not? And if it did, was the CIA covering up the thefts, trying to defend what little was left of its reputation before the information about the thefts leaked out, as well as trying to deflect the FBI from poking around in its failing fiefdom?
So, the real question is whether the FBI was unaware of these massively damaging leaks and only knows of the leaks now because of Wikileaks exposure. If so, then Wikileaks is a hero.
The second question is whether the CIA itself was unaware of these leaks or if they were covering them up. Either way, Wikileaks is a hero here as well.
And obviously Wikileaks is merely the messenger here, not the thief and not even the reason the thief stole the information in the first place. Furthermore, the information Wikileaks obtained appears to be only some of the information that the CIA mole has already released into the wild to others besides Wikileaks.
If ANY of the media were actually performing their self-proclaimed role of informing the public rather than merely being propaganda arms and cheerleaders for the Dem party, they would have pointed out that the above questions are the real crux of the matter and would be demanding answers to them. (Congress should be demanding answers to these questions too as well.)
And of course the whole “Russian Hacker” nonsense is now up in smoke since the CIA has stolen Russian Federation hacking tools and have used these themselves to hack into various systems to steal data and at the same time leave apparently bona fide fingerprints that “the Russians did it”.
As Wikileaks has noted:
“The CIA’s Remote Devices Branch’s UMBRAGE group collects and maintains a substantial library of attack techniques ‘stolen’ from malware produced in other states including the Russian Federation.”
“With UMBRAGE and related projects the CIA cannot only increase its total number of attack types but also misdirect attribution by leaving behind the “fingerprints” of the groups that the attack techniques were stolen from.”
And another question of course is whether the FBI had a clue that much of the “Russian hacking” they have been investigating may very well have been done by the CIA, or even a 3rd party using the Russian Federation hacking tools stolen by the CIA and then subsequently release into the wild by the unknown mole. Heck, pretty soon, teenage boys in their mother’s basements may be able to fully act as bona fide Russian hackers!
Of course, the Democrat cheerleader media will NEVER explore the horrendous implications of any of the above. It doesn’t fit in their narrative of attacking President Trump 24x7x365.
And finally, the release of these millions of lines of CIA hacking code into the wild, including those that the CIA stole from the Russian Federation and others no doubt, is an incalculable loss to U.S. security greater than or equal to nearly any post-WWII, Western espionage disaster that we know about.
But we’re not gonna hear about that from the Dem cheerleader enemedia either.
[And as a final note, the choice of the code name “UMBRAGE” is quite interesting:
Umbrage:
Origin Late Middle English (in umbrage (sense 2)): from Old French, from Latin umbra = shadow. An early sense was shadowy outline, giving rise to ground for suspicion, whence the current notion of offense.
Kinda implies one of the important purposes was not just to hack, but to redirect the umbrage to other (state) actors!]
The entirety of the US spy apparatus is being laid on the table before us.
On the one hand we’re grateful that the globalists are exposed.
On the other hand, China, Russia, Iran and everyone else will know (and soon exploit) our every weakness.
I don’t think that many comprehend that this is a monumentally frightening occurrence.

save taxpayer time and money...
What is that?
The CIA bugs me.
World’s biggest urinal for all the Washington DC Leaks....Your know. That be a good new name for The Redskins...The Leakers
This leak was devastating to our intelligence gathering ability. However, I think an intelligence agency that is used against we the people in an illegal manner far more dangerous to we the people than our avowed enemies.
George Orwell warned us. When I read 1984 forty years ago I found it very entertaining but to me it was science fiction. I was very wrong. Orwell imagined science that was not even possible at the time he wrote. However he knew exactly how we would use it. We now have that technology and it is being used exactly as he predicted!!!
He warned us, we did not listen
Why do an investigation? We all know the Russians did it. More sanctions needed. (The Queen in Alice in Wonderland: “Sentence first - verdict afterwards.”)
How about a probe into Zero, Hitlery, Jarrett, Holder, Lynch, Schumer, Waters, Cummings and the rest of the DC swamp?
Erect a large mirror in front of Langley. Investigation done!
“Report: Feds Launch Criminal Probe of WikiLeaks’ CIA Document Dump”
Good. For all the titillation it gives some, leaks and massive document dumps like that are doing grave harm to US National Security. A hanging offense in any nation that takes its security seriously.

“For all the titillation it gives some, leaks and massive document dumps like that are doing grave harm to US National Security.”
Do you really believe this crap you just wrote? Do you believe that US National Security is engaged in protecting our nation or protecting their own asses and their leftist paymasters?
You are one naive puppy.
Exactly. Wikileaks is anti-US GOV’T, and PRO US citizens. Big difference!
I, and many others, have dedicated our lives to this, and would appreciate not being lumped in with the political appointees and hacks who were given the keys to our national assets and secrets so they could be squandered or traded to enemies for a quick buck.
Magnum, appreciate your service.
It’s just that people, maybe after enduring 8 years of lawlessness under Obama, have little trust for the government and certainly no trust for groups that have had an influx of lefties over the years. Let’s hope that Trump gets the right people in there and can separate the wheat from the chafe.
I fully understand. Trying to continue to do the mission while politicians are doing everything they can to make that nearly impossible is frustrating. We dodged a big bullet last November. And clearly the fight didn’t end there.
“You are one naive puppy.”
Believe what you want.
Agreed on both counts. And judging from the actions of liberal family members since the election, there's a huge fight ahead. Hopefully, a peaceful one.
