Howard Dean: No room in Democratic party for pro-life voters
Hotair ^ | 03/08/2017 | Ed Morrissey

Joe Scarborough was shocked, shocked to hear yesterday that Democrats have no room for pro-life views from former DNC chair and governor Howard Dean, but … didn’t we already know this? Scarborough told Dean that former governor Steven Beshear — whom the DNC tapped to give a forgettable response to Donald Trump’s speech last week — harkened back to an era where Democrats used to win by sharing the values of voters in their regions, including pro-life and pro-gun positions. Dean responds by claiming ownership of the next generation (via Matt Vespa):

CLICK ABOVE LINK FOR THE VIDEO

“No. Because the young generation isn’t that way. I think the old left/right is an anachronism. It exists in Washington. It exists in the media. Young people don’t think that way. They are not ideological. They are extremely interested in social justice, so we are never going back to maybe making compromises on abortion, and gay rights is another one,” he said.

First off, Democrats have kept making the “we have the young people” argument all through the last six-plus years after they have lost election after election and state after state. It would be easier to take that argument seriously if they could demonstrate where it has helped — or for that matter, if they didn’t cling to their septuagenarian leadership despite those losses. The election of Barack Obama was supposed to realign the political environment in favor of “the young generation,” but Democrats don’t trust them with leadership — and it’s not all that tough to imagine that they’ve noticed it.

Next, it’s amusing to hear Dean speak of “the old left/right” as an “anachronism” when Democrats have run their election strategies in every cycle over the last eight years based on that model. Hillary Clinton didn’t even bother to appeal to moderates and centrists in the last election; instead, she embraced progressivism to the extent of attacking the Hyde Amendment and pledging federal funding for abortions. Did that help with the “young generation”? Hillary won 18-29YOs 55/36, about the same proportion as Barack Obama did (60/37) while campaigning more to the middle four years earlier. More to the point, Democrats lost ground at every level of politics while staking out ground on the far left of the left/right “anachronism” and counting on “the young generation” to pull their chestnuts out of the fire.

One word of caution about relying on the younger set of voters. It’s true that those among them that vote tend to vote Democratic and support progressive causes, but a relatively low percentage of them vote at all. Many of them won’t get engaged in politics until later, when issues begin to hit home for them. One of those issues is abortion, and polling shows repeatedly that the “young generation” is more pro-life than previous generations. Having previous generations lock those voters out of the Democratic Party because they don’t see killing unborn children on the same level as equal rights for gays and lesbians, or as “social justice” at all, is a big, big problem for Democrats down the road, as Scarborough suggests.

Younger voters may not identify as much with ideology, as Dean says, but it’s clear that Democratic leadership does. And that may be why Democrats have become a party of coastal enclaves and Academia.

>>>How come it’s ok for Dems to stick to their convictions but if Republicans do it they’re right-wing extremists and will lose the precious moderate and independent voters?<<<

Because the dem’s positions are reasonable and logical. And any OTHER position is extremist. In fact they outta pass a law to coerce people into thinking and acting properly. /s

There is a very large percentage of Americans who would agree with what I just said. It’s growing. Look how brazen they are shoving the trans bathroom stuff down everyone’s throat? Look how they no longer hide their disgust of religion by their hostility to church. Coming soon is a big attack on the church: Tax exempt status, anti bigotry legislation to make churches marry homos, hire homos and they will also try to worm their way into the curriculum of Christian schools.

And if these people who paint all opposing views as radical, are not called out and made to account for their own intolerance, the game is over. You can’t just sit by quietly and let the libtards frame all the debates, using their preferred language.

They keep spitting in the face of good people.

Democrat Party is now alienating many, many potential voters in America. Hillary arrogantly did this, and Romney secretly did it and was exposed.

The customer is always right. Never trash them, never.

Spit on your customers and they will rightfully abandon you.

They don’t get it. Weeks back they were demanding that there be no white leadership in the Democrat Party. That’s smart, let’s just kick all whites out of the party because that sounds like a winning strategy.

The MSM controls the Narrative-—the Meme, to move the Overton Window.

It is how they have moved us to a sodomite, baby-killing country within two generations. Of course, this started in Europe in the 1800s when they created the “plan” to destroy the minds of children and promote agitprop and revisionist history 24/7 (revealed by Huxley and Orwell). The Postmodernist, sodomite, “kill God” elites needed to destroy the Christian Worldview (infiltrate and take over all main-stream religions), so they could flip Good and Evil and destroy that which gave people the Age of Reason, Modern Science and the US Constitution. The ideas which created Free Will and Individualism and TRUE Love (Christianity) had to be erased in little children and dependency embedded by an artificial, controlled environment of social engineering (conditioning in the Pavlovian dog sense).

As Fichte stated in 1810, you have to destroy the free will in children (Common Core/NCLB/Goals 2000 in a Prussian system of indoctrination) to get useful idiots who are only group-thinkers and will never be able to “think” out of the State “box”. The System (education) literally destroys the integration of the brain and warps perceptions of Reality, self and male/female paradigm so “Up will be Down” and Boys can be girls in their conditioned minds. Totally irrational concepts like tribal mindsets and you wipe out the Rational Man (Christianity) and create the Neo-Feudal, slave cultures again like for thousands of years of history before the rise of Christian Philosophy-—the most just, free, equal, reality-based religion (which is embedded with Natural Law Theory (God’s Works) because of St. Thomas Aquinas’s Summa).

We need to teach children Objective Truth (true Christianity) again so Reason and Logic are returned and there can be Rule of Law (Higher Laws again). We have Rule of Man in USA since 1912-—totally unconstitutional.

The point I’m getting at here is that I think it’s sort of normal for young people to be ignorant to the nuances of politics due to their youth and inexperience.

I did have a metamorphosis too.

When I was younger I was a liberal conservative. Then I became a moderate conservative and now I am an ultimate conservative!
