FoxInsider ^

Members of the House Freedom Caucus, a group of some of the most fiscally conservative representatives, held a press conference criticizing the Republican leadership's ObamaCare replacement bill.

They announced they will be re-introducing a "clean repeal" bill tomorrow, which they said received unanimous Republican support last year.

We the People have unalienable rights to handle our own affairs...

...especially the simple basics of life, like our shelter, our food, care of our bodies, helping others in the manner we each choose, choosing to save and be cautious or to take risks and be daring, etc.

Handling our medical care for ourselves and for our loved ones and those we might choose to associate with, is an unalienable right that may not be infringed by government. I claim this under the 9th amendment. And I claim that the tenth amendment doubly protects me by forbidding that to the national government. We control the government, so we should start acting like we actually believe the Republican Platforms that have been getting passed for years!

The ACA and now RinoCare violate our unalienable rights even if they were legally done at a lower government level. At the national level they are a gross violation of our rights protected by our 9th and 10th amendments, and they should be gotten rid of ASAP.

Moreover’ these centralized elitist (read fascist) schemes made by democrats (often with rino help or acquiescence, although no rinos even voted for the ACA) simply DO NOT WORK, illegal or not. The only thig they are effective at is enhancing GRUBERIZATION of America so that we will have the illusion that we cannot “go back” so we must “go forward” and beg for “nationalized health care” even more.

Obamacare — get rid of it.

RinoCare — ignore it, make free market plans. The ideas for insurance crossing state lines is good. I would adds that I advocate NO annual deadlines and renewals, more like a subscription that we can buy which will follow us like a credit card account. They can change terms here and there in an orderly manner. I would couple insurance accounts with a degree of medical savings+credit, done through the FREE MARKET, to handle higher deductibles, etc and encourage savings. On an on there are great ideas that States and the Free Market can handle if all the roadblocks can be removed. Looks at how cell phone contracts have evolved over only a few years! AMERICA does not need RinoCare in any way and it is NOT strategic or tactical to consider or to pass it.

ELITISTS — very very bad for all.

FREE MARKET — set it free!

President Trump please veto RinoCare if it comes to that. Please use your persuasive skills to create a free market reminiscence in medicine in America!

This was the straight up repeal they passed and Obama vetoed. They won’t pass it again when it could be signed.

Ding, ding, ding.

Sorry, don't know what you won.

Pre-existing conditions have to be addressed in some fashion, and who cares if kids stay on till 26, as long as the added premiums are paid?

That said, this plan is DOA.

My Congressman is already out front leading the charge against the Uniparty eunuchs.

Dave Brat.

If everyone had followed our lead there would be a lot fewer weasels in Congress.

I think you missed the point. The new bill is a joke, they are introducing a bill from last year which repeals Obamacare completly and all Republicans voted for that bill.

"The Republicans have all three branches - and we still have to fight tooth and nail."

This leadership failure is more calamitous than you describe. We have the House. The Senate. The White House. The SC soon swinging our way. But the real kicker is not just owning all the branches... we own the levels as well.

We have the vast majority of governors and vast majority of state legislatures to boot!

I don't know if there has ever been this many stars aligned for a rollback of federal power to the states.

Yet what we do get coming out of the gate?

Entitlement for the enemy and promises for the troops.

People forget but Paul Ryan was a conservative rock star initially. He was the Donald Trump of entitlements. He was finally going to slay that dragon and move them to the states. Then he went sour. That is the part to remember, he did not start out a big govt guy.

This is Trump's Ryan moment.

He either takes on Ryan here and demands something Freedom-oriented rather than central dependency-oriented.

Or he goes sour and becomes Ryan.

We are ALREADY done with the Republican Party. We voted for Trump, who just borrowed their “R” to slap on a ticket.

Still done with them, so we vote for their challengers.

The GOPe is taking a lot of flak with the proposals so far - perhaps they will wake up.

About time. And there are at least 3 Republican Senators who are opposed to RINOcare. Unless they can move a Democrat or two, it’s a non-starter.

I remember someone who promised to “repeal every word of Obamacare.”

He gets attacked a lot on this site.

Please call your members of Congress and tell them to vote NO on this disaster.

(202) 224-3121. Call your local office as well, and email them.

They will tell you that this bill is better than Obamacare. It is, but only marginally. Obamacare 2.0, as Rep. Justin Amash called it. They could do so much better.

It retains the Cadillac tax — although it’s deferred to 2025. It repeals the individual mandate, yet re-enacts it in a different form by including a 30 percent penalty when you re-insure after being uninsured. IOW, the mandate via the back door. And refundable tax credits ARE subsidies.

Way too much like Obamacare. Only marginally different. The Republicans own it now.

I don’t want to tinker around the margins. I want to get rid of it. All the more reason why we must kill the bill, and we must kill it with Republican votes.

How about re-passing the plan Obama vetoed? Apparently, it had enough support to pass, so why not pass it now when you have complete control of the government?

Even better — the Paul plan.

Fortunately, I don’t think RINOcare will pass the Senate, even if it gets out of the House. (They can lose 21 Republican House members and 2 Republican senators.) I believe there are already three Republican senators against — Cruz,. Paul, and Lee. I wouldn’t be surprised if Sasse turns out to be a no vote also.

They might not even get the opportunity, hopefully. Amash has already declared against the Ryancare plan. Hopefully, the Freedom Caucus will stand against it.
