“The Secret Service does ECM sweeps, electronic counter-measures, where they go in frequently and look for listening devices, radio frequencies, all kinds of things to make sure the president or president-elect is not being, in fact, wiretapped or listened in on on specific phone lines,” Bongino revealed.
The former agent, noting Trump had Secret Service protection as a candidate, thinks it’s much more likely the Secret Service discovered something while performing one of their ECM sweeps of Trump Tower and later found out it was the DOJ that had ordered the surveillance.

If the phone company is directing the data to another party besides those that are on the call then the Secret Service would never know. Unless they had access to all that routing. Which isn’t on their end.

True, all wire taps are done in the Central Office. Nothing is done at the residence anymore. Hasn’t been done this way for years. And at&t, Verizon, CenturyLink and Frontier must comply with the Federal government.

I would like to think so. I’ve seen some really stupid things in my life though and have been exposed to some of the tech, enough to scare me about the possibilities, directional microphones is the least of them.
Giulliani would be someone who knows a lot about the corruption in the Obama Administration, if nothing else, probably from his contacts in the NYPD. He would suspect that Obama would pull something dirty, and the people who were hired to conduct cybersecurity would be looking for bugs or other signs of surveillance. Hopefully his team was good enough that they warned Trump to be careful because he might be under surveillance.
They could also have surveilled Cruz, Rubio, Kasich and even Bernie, among others. Time will tell.

Yep, I remember hearing Trump say back during the campaign (or maybe it was during the debates) the the only secure way to do something is to have a face to face conversation or send a paper note that someone will read.
As a computer guy, I kinda believe that to. It’s pretty much impossible to completely trust these boxes we carry around.

Has anyone noticed the news story that said that the “server” for the Trump Tower is located somewhere in New Jersey? Thus, the “claims” that the Trump Tower was not “tapped” means nothing if they are “tapping” the New Jersey location which everyone seems to be mum about. Also, a friend of mine that is involved in “counter, counter, counter surveillance” left over from his bounty hunter days told me that if you have an electrical outlet in any room, he can surveil you. Just sayin’.
