ROFL!!!!
In a Manhattan office this is a dream come true!! :)
Years ago, I worked at a law firm in New Orleans that had an interesting tradition. On Friday evenings, the managing partner would wait until the secretaries had all punched-out and left for the day, then would hit the all-call button at the reception desk, announcing that "The Drinking Lamp is Lit". That was an invitation to go to his office, which was like a throwback to 1960 or so with the bar cart. He even had a gun cabinet in his office. It was a huge space, with leather sofas and ashtrays - like an old smoking lounge.
The women knew that they should leave on time on Fridays, too - guess they didn't want to hang around a bunch of men once the booze had been broken out. Those were some great bull sessions. Not much shop talk, either - it was discouraged. Just enjoy a drink or two in the quiet office, watching dusk fall across the city.
