President Donald Trump is asking Congress to look into whether the Obama administration abused its investigative powers during the 2016 election, White House press secretary Sean Spicer said in a statement Sunday. The request came a day after Trump took to Twitter to accuse former President Barack Obama, without providing any evidence, of wiretapping his phones in Trump Tower in the weeks before the November election.
"Reports concerning potentially politically motivated investigations immediately ahead of the 2016 election are very troubling," Spicer said in the statement, which he also posted on Twitter. "President Donald J. Trump is requesting that as part of their investigation into Russian activity, the congressional intelligence committees exercise their oversight authority to determine whether executive branch investigative powers were abused in 2016."

There’s a reason you aren’t POTUS. Trump is smart to start with a tweet like this and then watch things unfold. BTW, my opinion of Trumps political skills has increased exponentially over the last 12 months.
If the Tower was already compromised and Camp Clinton were already receiving intel...the FISA warrant was only needed to cya leaking it out...
Trump plays triple level chess to their checkers.
He puts out a statement, sans documentation.
That suckers them all in to make LOUD refutations and attack him as making baseless claims.
Then when things get boiling in the headlines - he drops the bomb.
It's like fishing. Throw out the bait and once they bite, let 'em run out the line, reel 'em in a bit and let them run again - then, just when they think they're winning - reel 'em in to flop around on deck.
Trailer load of polygraph machines needed in Washington!
How about Rudy?
This is making me disbelieve the wiretapping episode.
whether Obama administration abused power
This could take many many years
I hope the investigation is broad enough to include a look at the Seth Rich murder. I would not be surprised if the Obama surveillance revealed that Rich was the one leaking DNC emails, and then either Obama or Hillary had him whacked.
Mark Levin suggested on Fox and Friends this morning that President Trump recess appoint a deputy Attorney General, in light of Sessions’ recusal.
I hope I have that correct and that President Trump can somehow manage to determine who actually performs any and all forthcoming investigations.
I guess I should have included a sarcasm tag. I was mocking CNN for expecting to document everything one says in a tweet.
My sincerest apologies!!!!
