A lawyer for a Mexican national sentenced to eight years in prison for voter fraud in Texas says she's been released as her appeal is pending.
Attorney Clark Birdsall said 37-year-old Rosa Maria Ortega was released Thursday after posting a more than $11,000 bond.
Ortega was convicted in Fort Worth last month on two felony counts of illegal voting.\

Last seen crossing the southern border...
Simple to be foreign and PRESENT at any public Mexican political rally is a felony in Mexico.
1st time caught as an illegal in Mexico - 5 years.
The 2nd time is 10 years.
She’ll skip out on her bond and be in the wind, good luck ever finding her.
Lock her up! She’ll likely self deport if her appeal is unsuccessful...or maybe before the appeal.
...They don’t release convicted murderers out because an appeal is pending...
My bet is they released her because they want her to flee to Mexico.
Next thing they will do is say they are going to scour the voter roles for others to prosecute...leading to their self-deportation.
I’d rather they go back to Mexico than that we have to support them for years in prison.
Being stuck in Mexico and totally scared to ever go north again is punishment enough IMO.
These ilks are costing the taxpayers plenty.
I’ll warrant she’s headed West, North, or East.
But... we’re told that this NEVER happens....
Why released? And for $11K?! So she can run off to Mexico? Hopefully she has a tracking bracelet.
Are you kidding? She'll still probably suckle from the public teat when she returns.
Tracking bracelet?
I doubt that.
it’s just absurd that an illegal alien can even post bond. man, we are one messed up country.
Since I live in Fort Worth, this criminal invader has effectively canceled MY votes for these several years.
Where is Al Sharpton to stand up against my disenfranchisement?
How does a convict get released while the appeal is ongoing?
What is the criteria for being released on bond pending appeal?
Some people are released and others sit in the pen while their appeals are in process.
Sometimes it seems that people are held for conviction on relatively minor offenses while others with more serious convictions are allowed to post bond and go free.
Wherever there is one there is another, and another, and another, and another, and another...
Multiply that by three or four million and you will understand why the DNC fights so hard against voter ID.
Without voter fraud, the DNC would be long past be dead and gone.
I see money changed hands in the Justice System, also some bail was posted.
This foreigner comes into our country and interferes in our country and she walks???
