George W. Bush heaped praise on Jimmy Kimmel for his anti-Trump opening monologue at the Oscars on Thursday night, telling the comedian enthusiastically that his performance was 'damn good'.
In a rare and lighthearted television appearance, Bush steered clear of mentioning the current president by name but was led into several subtle jabs at him by his mischievous host.
Among the slights was a compliment for Kimmel's decidedly anti-Trump debut at the Academy Awards.
'I saw your opening. I thought it was damn good!' he enthused, adding later that Kimmel was a 'funny guy'.

Back when Bush was running for gov in Texas, one of my buddies and dem told me that you have no idea what you are voting for there. He added the guy is a dope based on his interaction with him. He added that Richards the Drunk is about equal in ability so he was sitting out the election.
Reading these comments about about Trump lately verses his being quiet with the brown bomber and the rapist, his obvious support for illegal immigration, his beyond dumb war in Iraq and a few other disasters like never once taking on the press or the dems during his time in office, I got to believe my buddy was right. He did rally the country after 9/11 so he gets kudos for that but on balance, he was a disaster.

I don’t know if W is sneaky enough to do this but given the way the Left hated the guy it criticism of President Trump and praise for the Obamination of Desolation might due more to help Trump than supporting him
Neither he nor the rest of his family were ever any good. I recall reading John Podhoretz’ book about Bush, Sr. He had been one of his speechwriters; attended a strategy meeting on the 1992 campaign for reelection - the only idea they could come up with for several minutes was “Has been president for four years”; a nothingburger of a presidency. When Bush was leaving office, he instructed Pod to write a farewell speech with “none of that conservative junk”. His son, GW, is even more of a phony. Wouldn’t join his cohorts in Vietnam, yet pushed for the crazy Iraq war which killed 5,000 of our best young men and women, maimed countless others, killed upwards of a million Iraqi civilians and destabilized multiple countries in the Mideast. Spend your time visiting the VA hospital wards, Mr. Bush, rather than yucking it up with the Hollywood types in trashing our President; left wing haters who would otherwise have no use for a congenital idiot such as yourself.

Not sure what the hell is going on with the bushs. W defending the media attacks on Trump. His daughter outwardly supporting planned parenthood. W acting like a hollywood pop star and schmoozing the leftist pop culture.
It sucks to see people you once respected and thought had rock solid values sell their souls like this.
