Jared Kushner, Mr. Trump’s son-in-law and now a senior adviser, also participated in the meeting at Trump Tower with Mr. Flynn and Sergey I. Kislyak, the Russian ambassador. But among Mr. Trump’s inner circle, it is Mr. Flynn who appears to have been the main interlocutor with the Russian envoy — the two were in contact during the campaign and the transition, Mr. Kislyak and current and former American officials have said.
But the extent and frequency of their contacts remains unclear, and the disclosure of the meeting at Trump Tower adds to the emerging picture of how the relationship between Mr. Trump’s incoming team and Moscow was evolving to include some of the president-elect’s most trusted advisers.
The White House has repeatedly sought to play down any connections with Mr. Kislyak. Attorney General Jeff Sessions acknowledged this week that he had met twice with him during the campaign, despite previous denials.
The New Yorker reported this week that Mr. Kushner had met with Mr. Kislyak at Trump Tower in December. Hope Hicks, a White House spokeswoman, confirmed on Thursday that Mr. Flynn was also at the meeting in response to questions from a New York Times reporter.
It is common and not improper for transition officials to meet with foreign officials. But all meetings between Trump associates and Russians are now significant as the F.B.I. investigates Russian interference in the American election and whether anyone close to Mr. Trump’s campaign was involved.
The meeting in December came at a crucial time, just as the Obama White House was preparing to sanction Russia and publicly make its case that Moscow had interfered with the 2016 election.

Within an hour of getting Sessions’ recusal accomplished, the next meeting leak occurs.
This being AFTER the election though sure seems like a pretty NON-EVENTish event.
This is SO stupid. They should have just ignored it. Sessions is an idiot for recusing himself. Trump better get a handle on this.

If you're actually planning on winning the election and the Russian ambassador walks up to you, you should be open to a chat. Oh, and by the current standard I'm a traitor since I have visited the Rodina and have spoken to actual Russians. Irony is completely lost on these American Communists who operate under the name of the Democratic Party.

While I don’t see any problem with the president-elect’s team meeting with any ambassador, I do question the wisdom of having Jared meeting with a seasoned Russian diplomat. This is a world that he is not familiar with and that puts him at a significant disadvantage as he could be manipulated by these masters of diplomatic maneuvers.
Jared may be a wiz kid when it comes to real estate and using technology to win elections, but he was entirely out of his element and therefore a liability in this particular meeting. Smart people know their limitations and when to step back. Jared should have known better in my opinion.

Why is this so hard for some to grasp? You don’t lie to your prospective employer or his trusted rep. If you do, you face the consequences.

I’ve lived long enough to know the other side gets NO information from me until they clear the deck on their side. There should be NO cooperation from our side until they do what they should.. and that ain’t gonna’ happen. SO, the next thing to do is to attack.. to bring out every item in the book that is from their docket... and pummel them with it.. don’t stop... stay on it till they shut up.

He didn’t do that. He said during his confirmation hearings that he would recuse himself from campaign related issues.
Then why use the Russians as the foreign boogieman in this fake narrative? I mean -- most Americans don't even think of them as the "bad guys" at all. Heck ... Hollywood hasn't even made a movie with Russian villains since "The Hunt for Red October" -- and that was made before Alec Baldwin came out as a nasty, bloated slob.
Most people are probably seeing and reading all this idiocy, scratching their heads, and asking themselves: "Aren't the Russians the ones who are leading most of the joint Russia-U.S. missions to the International Space Station?"
I'd like to hear the same thing on the airwaves from lawyers in the media like Laura Ingraham and Mark Levin, too.
