It is a moment that MacLaine said she is still trying to cope with days later.
'I think were all processing the horror of it. Im still dealing with it,' MacLaine said in an interview with USA Today.
'Im concerned with how [Beatty] must have felt, being so close to him. Im three years older and Im protective. We know how difficult it was for him, but it was also for me.'
Cameras captured the moment the Moonlight cast and crew learned of their win, and MacLaine could be seen in the background gasping, covering her mouth in shock and then clutching her chest.

Didn’t watch the O’scars but I’ve got to say I’m waiting for the committee to announce an “O’scar participation trophy be given to cast of LaLa-LaLa land for the mix up and the cruel and unusual mental harm that was caused /s
She says “She’s a Mystic”.
She believes in Karma.
What she doesn’t seem to realize is that sometimes Karma can bite you in the posterior.
agreed. you would think someone removed the wrong kidney during surgery. Who Cares?? The guy got his props after all, it’s all good now.
Stop Talking About It, Hollyweird.
She’s not exactly a spring chicken any more, and then to have to listen to her fellow thespians trash her idiot half-brother who wasn’t paying attention, ...
Wow! Just Wow!
On a scale of 1 to 10 this was a zero, it was just a mistake, briefly embarrassing, but still a mistake. No one died. No one lost their home. No one really suffered.
It is something you laugh off, not dwell on.
I have made a few mistakes over the years, and it is true, what does not kill you, makes you stronger.
Grow up Shirley.
“idiots I see at the gas station”

People take playing pretend way too seriously........
“Normal people would have went to the parties, got smashed and laughed it off.”
OR they could simply go to the after-party and get really drunk and have a good time. Then next morning they wouldn’t be able to remember anything anyhow!
“And what, prey tell is a high-level actor!
LOL. Guess you’d have to ask that question to each individually to see which of them feel they are high-level. Probably every one of them there.
Pathetic. To even utter that you’re horrified by something so insignificant means your life isn’t worth sh&&.
They are actors who just repeat what is written for them to say.
“agreed. you would think someone removed the wrong kidney during surgery.”
LOL. Laughed out loud for read at that one!!
Yes. I can think of a good number of descriptions of “horror”, none of which relate to a mistake reading the Oscar winner.
What’s more pathetic is THIS is the crowd Obama preferred to have hanging about him at the White House.
Really, who gives a flying f***?
Holy Shiite. Processing the Horror, a Mistake in front of All the People You Respect So Much.
Geez Louise.
(I do get her feelings of protectiveness for her brother who is supposed to have Alzheimer’s. And dealing with it every day, I truly feel he did an awesome job with the situation he was dealt.)
Yeah, I got divots in my hands from clutching my pearls when I heard about the fiasco.
Rofl, that is the funniest line I have ever heard!!!!
The horror? And these people think they are qualified to frame this nations political direction when they can’t tell the difference between a true horror in life and an Oscar mistake? Evidently the only “horror” they have experienced is a role they played in a movie.
