CNN's Van Jones is a frequent Trump critic if there ever was one. But after the president's speech to the nation on Tuesday night, Jones got emotional and was clearly impressed by Trump's handling of one particular part of the speech.
Jones said Trump's tribute to Navy SEAL Ryan Owens, who died in a raid in Yemen, was “one of the most extraordinary moments you have ever seen in American politics, period” and that it was the moment Trump “became president of the United States.” He also said it's the kind of thing that could make Trump a two-term president.
During Trump's remarks, cameras trained on Owens's widow, Carryn Owens, with tears streaming down her face. Facing her, Trump said her husband's legacy was “etched into eternity.”

Look Van Jones is simply trying to set himself up for 2 months down the road he can say “and this is the moment Trump wasnt our president any more”.

Van Jones comments, more than anyone else, has me wondering if I am not in some parallel universe.
I can’t imagine why he is praising Trump.
I think it might have been an FU. If it was, it was delivered for Mrs. Owen’s by proxy.
He is still a human being. Being about to lie 24/7/365 does not come naturally.
Better to ride the tidal wave instead of getting crushed by it.
Because sometimes the truth is so evident to everyone that not even the fake news people can deny it.
That was the greatest SOTU speech of my lifetime and I have seen EVERY ONE since Carter.
Face it- that speech (no matter who would have delivered it) was irreproachable.

Need to watch out for that Van Jones. He is the face of communism but he is not a scary face of communism. He might run for president one day.

He said he hated the “substance” of the speech, which right there tells you he’s still a racist POS
Jones may be excommunicated from the Democrat Party and evicted from CNN, ABC and NBC.
Rush mentioned Jones’ name and I shut off the radio. I didn’t suspect for a second it would be a positive thing.
Jones, and CNN, are trying to pivot. They know Trump is walking all over them. They know their ratings are doomed. They know the Trump supporters are sick of CNN. They have to adapt to survive. I’m not saying it’s sincere, I’m just saying they’ll give the appearance of objectivity in an attempt to boost their ratings. If it weren’t for every airport in the USA CNN would have no viewers at all.
