The Ryan Owens remarks to his widow was Presidential and that it was the 'moment' that should scare detractors if Trump keeps it up because they can no longer call him cartoonish character. He said while he disagreed with other parts of Presidents speech he saw him display qualities that will signal that Trump will be President for 8 years
Trumps ability to bring people over is divine intervention, he has been given a gift to fix our nation!!!
Van Jones knows the Democrats are in for rough 8 years...
He became President of the United States in that moment. Period. There are a lot of people who have a lot of reason to be frustrated with him, to be fearful of him. But that was one of the most extraordinary moments youve ever seen in American politics. Period. And he did something extraordinary.
And for people who were hoping that he would become unifying, hoping that he might find some way to become presidential, they should be happy with that moment. For people who have been hoping that maybe he would remain a divisive cartoon, which he often finds a way to do, they should begin to become a little bit worried tonight. Because that thing you just saw him do, if he finds a way to do that over and over again, hes going to be there for eight years.
Now there is a lot that he said in that speech that was counterfactual, that was not right, that I oppose and will oppose.
But he did something tonight that you cannot take away from him. He became President of the United States.
That’s mighty White of you, Van.
For all his “white-lash” talk, this unassimilated commie knows (now more than ever) that the US is still a “white” country. He also knows that enough blacks and Hispanics that could have put Hillary in the White House voted for Trump instead - and he knows their grievances weren’t addressed by either the Kenyan Pirate or the White Witch.
Probably because Trump hasn’t given any indication that he’ll end racial preferences - Jones may be rejoicing that for at least another four years, blacks may underperform non-blacks without consequence.
They just need to find the black/Hispanic/atheist/Muslim/woman/trans who is also acceptable to the rest of the black/Hispanic/atheist/Muslim/women/trans in the party. It won't be easy. When your model is race politics, and each group thinks it's their turn, closing that sale is a near-impossible job.
When I think energy independence I think of LNG, our liquid gold that will quench the world’s thirst for a clean-burning, environmental-friendly fuel that can be used in power plants and in transportation vehicles.
Yup. And I’m stealing “Kenyan Pirate”
Just think of it as Jones "throwing in the towel."
I got that from a sign at a TEA Party rally years ago (when Somali pirates were in the news); an older white lady held up a sign saying “Stop the Kenyan Pirate!”...
My favorite sign of the 2016 campaign was one I first saw help up by a white guy in a hardhat: “I’m ready to build the wall”.
My take on the white clothes is that they want to appeal to their looney base by “protesting” in some way, but were afraid to be too confrontational because it would alienate the more reasonable democrats. I predict no one will be happy with their safe move.
It was weak sauce all around. They looked like they were wearing straitjackets!
I agree...as long as he deals with *democrats* and not socialists/communists/un-Americans.
MAGA
Resistance is futile
As soon as the CNN poll showed that 78% loved the speech he started ripping Trump...as did all the other loyal DNC/MSM hacks on CNN.
Trump killed it tonight and it’s going to hurt the Dems and they know it. They couldn’t even stand up a current office holder for the response to the speech. They had to get an ex governor from Kentucky, as conservative a state you will find, to give the response.
Trump took a big step tonight towards dismantling the deep state (notice McLame and Linda’s discomfort during the speech) and ending the threat of a civil war. Dems are going to have a hell of a time keeping the scare going now.
What’s the difference between democrats and socialists these days? :-).
Lovin’ it!
