"We need an independent media to hold people like me to account. Power can be vindictive and corrosive, and we need the media to call out people who abuse their power."

And when the media we have--unfortunately have--is largely a chorus for those who hate our heritage and institutions, we need a political leader able to call such media out--to defend America against a fifth column that means us ill.

If that is above George W.'s comprehension level, so be it. America is too important to surrender the future in order to make nice with the abusers of power.
