Yeah, I don’t expect anything out of this at all. We had the proper systems and checks in place to stop the 9/11 hijackers before they could execute their plan, we just didn’t have the political fortitude to do it. Now, in typical American fashion, we’re “being proactive” with some magical technological solution that will cost a bundle and catch no one. Meanwhile, the decades-old established systems will continue to be ignored and terrorists and criminals will keep getting through.
I don’t expect anything good to happen. Much like the sudafed thing, hasn’t slowed down meth use or consumption, but hey it’s a lot easier to arrest people now.
