ATLANTA (CNN)--Progressive activists lashed out at the Democratic Party on Saturday after their choice to lead its national committee, Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison, was defeated by former Obama administration Labor Secretary Tom Perez in a tight and unexpectedly contentious contest.
After the results were announced, angry Ellison loyalists rose from their seats in the back of the ballroom at the Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel and tried to shout down outgoing interim chair Donna Brazile, chanting, "Party for the people, not big money!"
"This shows that the Democratic Party didn't learn their lesson," said Alexa Vaca, an Ellison backer and supporter of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders during the party's divisive 2016 primary race. "They are not going to be in touch with the people and they are not ready to move in a new direction despite the rhetoric."
Perez came up a vote short of a clinching majority on the first ballot, then captured 235 of the 435 votes cast on the second. In between votes, the Ellison camp sent out a text message to DNC members claiming that South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg, who dropped out of the running before a vote was cast, had endorsed him. But the information was incorrect, and Buttigieg confronted Ellison backstage. A correction was sent out with an apology. . .

The Obama administration directed Perez and the Civil Rights Division in challenging South Carolina’s 2011 voter ID law, over concerns that the law violated Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.[107] Perez successfully blocked the law from taking effect, after the Justice Department alleged South Carolina of failing to prove that the law wouldn't have a disproportionate effect on minority voters.[108] In a letter to South Carolina’s Deputy Assistant Attorney General, C. Havird Jones, Jr.,[109] Perez questioned whether 81,000 registered voters, all of whom were minorities who didn’t have government-issued or military photo identification, would be able to exercise their right to vote, citing “significant racial disparities in the proposed photo identification requirement."[109] Perez also oversaw the Obama administration’s efforts in challenging a 2011 voter ID law signed by Texas Governor Rick Perry, the second voter ID law consequently found to have violated Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act.[110] Addressing the Supreme Court case Crawford v. Marion County Election Board, where the court upheld the constitutionality of Indiana’s photo ID requirement, Perez argued that “[Texas’s] submission did not include evidence of significant in-person voter impersonation not already addressed by the state's existing laws.”[111] Perez also stressed data from the Texas Department of Public Safety that found that registered Hispanic voters were 46.5% to 120% less likely than non-Hispanic voters to have a government issued driver’s license or state required photo ID.[11

So called Democrats are showing the American People in this DNC fight that the historic party is NOW paralyzed by marxists socialists who smell the blood of establishment democrats and are going for Total Control.
Establishment Dems can’t fight back because they are physically intimidated by the loudmouths. We know this because of all the times the loudmouths wrestle the mike away at rallies while timid, self loathing establishment Dems, including Hillary herself, standby and do nothing.

Ellison should be the leader of the DNC. Ellison is the epitome of what the democrats represent, so, he is the only candidate that made sense to lead them.
Democrats need to riot and protest and burn down democrat party headquarters. Ellison needs help from his Muslim buddies. Islamaphobia from democrats cannot be allowed to stand.
