In a fiery speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), Breitbart author Sonnie Johnson declared that white supremacy and institutionalized racism are real in America today but in the Democratic Party.
"What if I told you I actually agree with Black Lives Matter?" Johnson asked a room full of conservatives. "What if I told you that institutionalized racism is real in America? What if I told you it started with a progressive Democrat named Woodrow Wilson, who resegregated both the government and the military? What if I told you it started with a KKK indoctrination video in the White House?"
But Johnson didn't just talk about President Woodrow Wilson (1913 to 1921). She also attacked President Franklin Delano Roosevelt (1933 to 1945). And what policies did FDR support? Funny you should ask.
"Minimum wages were meant to protect white jobs from black workers, through unionization," Johnson declared. FDR's policies affected "newly freed slaves off the plantation who turned themselves into entrepreneurs and business makers," but the liberal president's "excessive taxation and regulation crushed these businesses." But it gets worse.
"What if I told you that FDR said 'ok, we'll have a jobs plan, we'll create a highway system, and we're going to run it straight through productive black neighborhoods. We're going to destroy their housing, we're going to destroy their economic centers, but we can give them welfare to back it up'?" the black conservative woman declared.
"What if I told you that white supremacy is real in America, and it came with the very first gun laws that said black people had no right to protect themselves from the KKK?" Johnson asked, and the crowd started jittering with excitement. "What if I told you white supremacy was real in the form of Planned Parenthood that said the best thing you can do is kill your baby?"
At this, the crowd burst into applause. Johnson had really struck a nerve and many of her attacks on liberal policies do indeed have their roots in history. But she didn't just talk about history.
"And what if I told you that they culminated in a candidate, a self-professed Woodrow Wilson progressive who wants to push an FDR jobs program, who loves Planned Parenthood, and hasn't met a gun law that she didn't like?" Johnson asked. "And they ran her on the Democratic side -- Hillary Clinton."
Hillary's America: New D'Souza Film Exposes Dems' Connection to the KKK The black conservative noted that while liberals often say the Republicans and Democrats switched sides, "every single aspect of systemic racism, of white supremacy that they have pushed, remains on the Democratic side of the aisle."
Johnson held nothing back, declaring, "Every one of those policies that implemented white supremacy, that implemented institutionalized racism in American society, they came from the Democratic side, and they still remain on the Democratic side!"
In short, this black conservative woman thinks the systemic racism alleged by groups like Black Lives Matter is real, but it's main engine is Democratic liberal policies. Black Lives Matter is a good movement, but it's protesting the wrong people.
PING!
If we look at the richest neighborhoods across the country, almost all are nearly 100% democrat, and 100% white. Official segregation housing policies are gone, but the people I call “lilly whites” don’t need them. They enforce segregation through high housing prices and minimum wage laws. The current wave of minimum wage increases is focused on cities that are heavily progressive and white, and they will only get whiter.
And the original gun control laws were about keeping blacks from having guns.
unintended consequences
just like obama pushing more gun control actually resulted in more gun sales and more guns in circulation
Now, now, let’s be more specific.
The original gun control laws were promulgated to prevent blacks from having guns to defend themselves from Democrats in the form of the KKK.
There we go. :)
She has some good points but I completely disagree with the BLM being anything other than a terrorist group aimed at taking down law enforcement and whites in general; at least from what I’ve seen.
She would be smart to leave the BLM out her speeches in anything other than a terrorist group context IMHO.
When I think of the BLM nothing good comes to mind. Things like “pants down don’t shoot”.
And yet almost all blacks, Jews and Catholics (abortion) vote Democrat.
Just as with Protestants and Jews, the difference among Catholics is orthodox belief or the lack of it. Orthodox vote conservative. The rest don’t.
Completely wrong about BLM. They’re Marxist revolutionaries...nothing good.
This would alleviate the loss of employment that otherwise develops as wages are forced upward by a conventional minimum wage. Illegals hired would not get the benefit of the wage subsidy, while participating employers would find it easier to hire Americans for low skill jobs because their wages would be supplemented. The broader benefits to the country would be reduction of work demand for illegals and the restoration of work opportunities for low skilled Americans.
The Republican party freed blacks in the civil war and AGAIN 100 years later when we took over the South politically and ended jim crow, poll taxes and segregation.
I’m pretty sure that they predate the KKK.
This one for instance predates the founding of the USA (1705, which was 70 yrs before the Revolution):
