No, I don't smoke pot. I don't smoke anything. I don't do drugs and I barely have a glass of wine during the holidays.
To me a key issue is that we have a contradiction between state and federal law on recreational marijuana use.
Are states allowed to override federal laws?
Does the federal government have jurisdiction over state drug laws in the first place??
A certain percentage of people are going to be outliers, and live outside the expected norms. They're going to be a little bit bad, because it isn't their nature to succumb to authority. Back when I was a teen, you could be a little bit bad by sneaking a few cigarettes or some Boone's Farm. They weren't things that would kill you. When marijuana is illegal, it fulfills the need of outliers to be a little bit bad, but probably not dead. If marijuana is legal, it's acceptable. So those folks who want to be a little bit bad? They'll turn to something more deadly to stay outside the norms.
The answer is something our society isn't ready to accept. That would be a decent and healthy life style.

Trump isn't going to go after recreational pot smokers. Spicer poorly fielded a "gotcha" question, that's all.
Trump isn't stupid. Going after pot smokers in states that have legalized it isn't worth the political capital. It wasn't part of Make America Great Again plan.
We should probably remember that President Trump’s brother died of alcoholism, and therefore he has strong opinions about these issues. But the fact is that the WOD is a huge failure. It has done nothing but promote organized crime and erode the freedoms and rights of the people. Whatever benefit that comes from saving people from themselves is simply not worth it. President Trump should not spend his political capital on this issue.
If for no other reason, I’d like him to lean on my state of Washington. Idiot Governor Jay Inslee, and his Beavis and Butthole twin AG Bob Ferguson need their hands slapped. They are the ones leading the anti Trump agenda of using the courts to stymie his every move. I’d love to see them tied up with the pot mess. Their time for comeuppance is long past due.
I understand I don’t smoke pot either but because of drug testing problem, I value my job more than some weed, but once I retire in about 5 month I am going to see if pot is a cure for knee pain and I could care less about the feds...lol
He needs to keep it that way to deport alien illegals who are caught with the goods. More than personal use will get them deported.
