Here's a tale of government waste involving all the usual suspects: incompetence, indifference, and laziness.
The inspector general for the Social Security Administration discovered that a billion dollars in benefits was paid to people who had no Social Security numbers. The benefits were paid to "representative payees" – people who were accepting benefit checks on behalf of another because the beneficiary was unable to manage his Social Security payments by himself.
Seventeen percent of these representative payees were illegal aliens, according to the audit.
Over the last decade, the agency paid $1 billion to 22,426 representative payees who "did not have an SSN, and SSA had not followed its policy to retain the paper application."
"Furthermore, unless it takes corrective action, we estimate SSA will pay about $182.5 million in benefits, annually, to representative payees who do not have an SSN or paper application supporting their selection," the inspector general said.
The inspector general also found the agency paid $853.1 million in benefits since 2004 to individuals who had been terminated as representative payees by the agency.
The inspector general said the errors occurred because the agency did not keep paper applications supporting an individual's case to receive benefits on behalf of another and did not update its system if their status was terminated.

Probably illegals.
Ping!
I don’t agree that we should do this.
Read this story in the Washington Beacon:

Every time I read articles like this, I look for names of individuals who are responsible for the fraud or waste. They never identify the specific bureaucrat or politician directly responsible for the waste of tax payer money.
Why don’t these reports include the names of the people who requested or approved money for some infamous government grant?
I recently retired, visited my small town local social security office to apply . I was the only person in there over 60..... the rest were teens, middle age, foreigners who used a translator etcetera . After everyone had been waited on , no one left in the waiting area, I was told by the lone hispanic looking male clerk to make an appointment that they couldn’t see me for 90 days...... Went home and processed on line, took me 10 minutes and a confirmation call a few days later from a SS office . Checks are already getting deposited .... As my first and only visit to such a zoo my first impression was that fraud boat is sinking fast.
Just my experience last month.
They are giving my/out SS money to in-eligible people. USGov taxes USAians heavily and then do evil things with our money. They think they are above We the People.
[[Over the last decade, the agency paid $1 billion to 22,426 representative payees]]
hmmmmm- no wonder obama’s regime couldn’t find enough money to issue ‘cost of living increases’ to our nation’s most vulnerable and needy citizens, elderly, veterans and disabled folks- funny how there was ‘no cost of living increases’ for the nation’s needy (despite the cost of EVERYTHING going up- way up)- but congress always managed to issue themselves very healthy cost of living increases every year
Keep this in mind when Paul Ryan mentions social security in the “entitlement” reforms.
Surprise! Watch a few episodes of Judge Judy and you will begin to see where all the hard earned money you gave to the gov't, went. It's frightening. Mr. Wolfe asks who is responsible for this waste.
How the Democrats Destroyed Social Security
History Lesson on Your Social Security Card
Just in case some of you young whippersnappers
(& some older ones) didn't know this. It's easy to
check out, if you don't believe it. Be sure and show
it to your family and friends. They need a little history
lesson on what's what and it doesn't matter whether
you are Democrat or Republican. Facts are Facts.
Social Security Cards up until the 1980s expressly stated
the number and card were not to be used for identification
purposes. Since nearly everyone in the United States now
has a number, it became convenient to use it anyway
and the message, NOT FOR IDENTIFICATION, was removed.
Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social
Security (FICA) Program. He promised:

1.) That participation in the Program would be
Completely voluntary,
No longer Voluntary

2.) That the participants would only have to pay
1% of the first $1,400 of their annual
Incomes into the Program,
Now 7.65%
on the first $90,000

3.) That the money the participants elected to put
into the Program would be deductible from
their income for tax purposes each year,
No longer tax deductible

4.) That the money the participants put into the
independent 'Trust Fund' rather than into the
general operating fund, and therefore, would
only be used to fund the Social Security
Retirement Program, and no other
Government program, and,
Under Johnson the money was moved to
The General Fund and Spent

5.) That the annuity payments to the retirees would never
be taxed as income.

Under Clinton & Gore
Up to 85% of your Social Security can be Taxed

Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are
now receiving a Social Security check every month --
and then finding that we are getting taxed on 85% of
the money we paid to the Federal government to 'put
away' -- you may be interested in the following:

------------ --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- ----

Q: Which Political Party took Social Security from the
independent 'Trust Fund' and put it into the
general fund so that Congress could spend it?
A: It was Lyndon Johnson and the democratically
controlled House and Senate.

------------ --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --

Q: Which Political Party eliminated the income tax
deduction for Social Security (FICA) withholding?
A: The Democratic Party.

------------ --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- -----

Q: Which Political Party started taxing Social
Security annuities?
A: The Democratic Party, with Al Gore casting the
'tie-breaking' deciding vote as President of the
Senate, while he was Vice President of the US

------------ --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- -

Q: Which Political Party decided to start
giving annuity payments to immigrants?

AND MY FAVORITE:
A: That's right!
Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party.
Immigrants moved into this country, and at age 65,
began to receive Social Security payments! The
Democratic Party gave these payments to them,
even though they never paid a dime into it!

------------ -- ------------ --------- ----- ------------ --------- ---------

Then, after violating the original contract (FICA),
the Democrats turn around and tell you that the Republicans
want to take your Social Security away!
And the worst part about it is uninformed citizens believe it!
If enough people receive this, maybe a seed of
awareness will be planted and maybe changes will evolve.
But it's worth a try.
DEFUND the $wamp
A measly billion dollars is chicken feed to the feds. The Department of Homeland Security budget is 40+ billion per year. Look it up.
Freegards
bump
Noting that the states have never expressly constitutionally delegated to the feds the specific power to regulate, tax and spend for anything like SS, patriots are reminded that the Founding States gave the power of the purse uniquely to the HoR (1.7.1). So the HoR must take full constitutional responsibility for this SS mess whether it wants it or not imo.
Drain the swamp! Drain the swamp!
Remember in November 18 !
Since Trump entered the 16 presidential race too late for patriots to make sure that there were state sovereignty-respecting candidates on the primary ballots, patriots need make sure that such candidates are on the 18 primary ballots so that they can be elected to support Trump in draining the unconstitutionally big federal government swamp.
Such a Congress will also be able to finish draining the swamp with respect to getting the remaining state sovereignty-ignoring, activist justices off of the bench.
Noting that the primaries start in Iowa and New Hampshire in February 18, patriots need to challenge candidates for federal office in the following way.
Patriots need to qualify candidates by asking them why the Founding States made the Constitutions Section 8 of Article I; to limit (cripple) the federal governments powers.
Patriots also need to find candidates that are knowledgeable of the Supreme Court's clarifications of the federal governments limited powers listed below.
Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States. Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
State inspection laws, health laws, and laws for regulating the internal commerce of a State, and those which respect turnpike roads, ferries, &c. are not within the power granted to Congress [emphasis added]. Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]. United States v. Butler, 1936.
Take names fire them and take thier retirement fund for punishment, they know the rules
Darn...if it’s that easy maybe I’ll get me 2 or 3 more identities and work that SSA gold mine...< /sarc >
