Do you like Belize? Was there once, before they bulldozed the archaeology, quite the third world experience, and contrast. Got a kick out of seeing guards with sub-machine guns outside the Western Union office, see commercials at home telling me I should retire there, but really havent had the desire to go back.
I have been to Belize twice, the last time in May 2016, and thoroughly enjoyed it both times, although yes, it is quite third-worldish. The scenery is spectacular and largely unspoiled. I hadn't heard about the 'bulldozed archaeology', however. Did you happen to see the TV miniseries 'Mad Dogs'? Just remember not to carry around large sums of money.

Thanks, have not seen Mad Dogs, think the closest I’ve come to a miniseries is the three or four parts of The Stand.
Realized how much I’d come to hate TV for the past 8 years of politicized EVERYTHING, fawning for an evil America-hating fraudulent president, and now nothing but mindless hate for the current one.
FYI, glad I got there first: https://weather.com/news/news/mayan-pyramid-bulldozed-belize-20130514

(Had FDR been GOP, there would have been no World Wars, just "The Great War" and "Roosevelt's Wars".)
