I kid. This shouldn’t be shocking — if you’re a pragmatist, not a polemicist. Point one: Trump has been hinting at amnestizing DREAMers for months. Usually that takes the form of gooey pronouncements about having a big heart and how “great people that are here that have done a good job … should be far less worried” about deportation than criminals. Lately, though, the White House has showed its hand more clearly by declining to suspend Obama’s DACA program for DREAMers as part of its executive overhaul of immigration policy. All Rush is doing here is getting in line with a Republican president he already spends much of his time defending.
Point two: An immigration deal with Democrats that would trade serious enforcement upgrades for amnesty for DREAMers does make a lot of sense. If Trump needs to horse-trade with Democrats to get 60 votes in the Senate for more Border Patrol, more sophisticated means of tracking immigrants internally, and so forth, legalization for America’s most sympathetic class of illegals is an obvious possible concession, especially since Obama’s already granted them

This will be unpopular, but Rush is right. It is wise not to overreach on this issue. Grant them legality, without citizenship. The optics of kids being deported is exactly what the left wants. I warn you, don’t hand it to them. If the borders are closed and crimmigration is halted, a huge victory has been won.
....and how long would it be before the libs start to run politically on “we just can’t keep kids from their loving parents”....and the media starts the beautiful “reunion”;stories...*sniff sniff*

For once, I truly disagree with Rush.
Okay, fine. Deport them last - and if you deport the parents first, make the child a ward of the state until we get around to deporting them.
And if you deport the parents first, the kids will probably willingly want to leave.

Of course we’re going to win something - we’re going to win control over our own destiny back.
I think most of these so-called “dreamers” were actually born in Mexico and brought here as little kids with their illegal alien parents, or parent.
So they are really not anchor babies, just illegal aliens like their mother or father.
I think Trump wants to get rid of the criminal “dreamers” first and decide what to do with the others later.
Personally, I would deport ANYONE who is here illegally, I don’t care if they are from Mexico, Central America, Ireland, China, Brazil, wherever, regardless of their age.
So a 10 year old kid whose parents brought him here when he was two months old is a criminal? Relax Francis.

Amnesty for the Screamers is a massive incentive for more and more no-skill immigration to flow in across our borders.
I am with Trump on this. I grew up among Hispanic kids in northwest Orange County, many decades ago.
Some of them served in Vietnam.
Most on this thread probably didn’t even hear what Rush said in its entirety. The illegal criminals will be deported, no more jobs for illegals or businesses will be shutdown, the wall is up, the border is secure and everything else is done and then they’ll allow DREAMERS to stay. Trump is already implementing his plan, illegals are starting to get deported slowly but surely without democrats so he isn’t waiting for a grand bargain but on this one specific thing I think Rush got a tip from a White House source
