John Fund is an establishment figure who has absolutely nothing in common with the supporters of President Trump. He is baling water out of his sinking career if President Trump succeeds.

Agreed. By starting off with:
"...As president, he cut a grandiose figure. He was a braggart and a frequent liar. He was suspicious of other countries, frequently saying, Foreigners are not like the folks I am used to. He had a reckless disregard for limits. He belittled and browbeat others to intimidate them and give him what he wanted. Historian Robert Dallek said that he viewed criticism of his policies as personal attacks and opponents of his policies as disloyal to him and the country. He would bully and insult reporters, saying of one that he always knew when he was around, because he could smell him. He told whoppers about voter fraud in his elections. But he did get things done, dominating the political scene for good and for ill..." It is exactly akin to those in the media who say "Now, I am not comparing Trump to Hitler, but..." and then go on to compare Trump to Hitler.

You believe correctly. It is a vicious hit piece, all done with inapt innuendo. LBJ was the opposite of Donald Trump. He was, if anything relevant to the present, a male Hillary Clinton. He did violate election laws. He did push through a radical change to our immigration laws, one favoring inconguous immigration--which has actually been subsidized;--as well as increased Federal meddling in local education & health care.
If you are a student of the art of the smear, you will recognize many tactics used by the writer. This is one more example of how far National Review has fallen from its own standards in the 1950s. This is contemptible trash.

Comparisons to LBJ cannot be intended to be complimentary.
Does anyone run for office claiming to be Johnsonesque?

Everything that comes from the traitors at National Review is suspect. They are still the HQ for the Never Trumpers.

John Fund is an idiot.
LBJ was crooked as a jaybird.
Trump is not.

I believe this is intended to be a hit piece by National Review. Ya think? Why else compare Trump to probably the most vulgar and crude person to ever hold the office. When Trump starts holding meetings int he same room he's on the crapper, they might, just might be able to make some small comparison.

July 17, 2017 and Potato-faced John Fund is still smearing Trump, this time on the John Batchelor radio show.
