Left without Conviction: Psychodynamics of Trump-Triggered Rage Decompensation
American Thinker ^ | February 19, 2017 | Deborah C. Tyler

Posted on 02/19/2017 7:58:17 AM PST by Kaslin

Psychological decompensation refers to the loss of mental stability and self-control due to the failure of overtaxed coping mechanisms to handle stress. The term decompensation is typically applied to breakdowns in individuals who are psychologically fragile in the first place. For minds burdened with a fallacious self-image, unrealistic life expectations, or a distorted view of reality, heightened stress overwhelms the already brittle ego defenses, and raw psychic pain and rage flows unrestrained.

The election of President Trump has triggered a rage decompensation across the left wing, causing disgusting, dehumanizing, and violent expression to break out. The categories of left-wing caterwauling are mainly racist, sexist, and eco-psychotic. In that order, there was the aspiring Democratic Party chair who declared that "white people need to shut up." The Midol March on Washington featured a pathetic, wizened Madonna fantasizing about mass murder at the White House while Ashley Judd inflicted a PMS rant from hell. In giving the stage to Donna Hylton, who sodomized her victim with a pipe before helping to murder him, the left proved beyond a doubt they care that "our children are listening" only until the campaign is over. From the eco-nuts assortment came the segregationist with the Marine haircut who demanded that the Trump supporter move to the back of the plane after declaring she had the right to vomit on him

In the madness of decompensation, the left are repressing freedom of speech and association through censorship and mob violence, "unfriending" actual and virtual relationships, ruining family get-togethers, and generally going nutters against anybody deemed to be one of the new political untouchables.

Everything in their predictable, correctness, righteous, selfish, and media think world has been tested. And has it failed miserably. Now they are in the wilderness and we are going on their lost journey.

Most cogent analysis I’ve seen thus far. Must-reading for all of us who are bewildered by the mass hysteria that has claimed even previously “thoughtful” Lefty family members, neighbors, and friends.

I got blocked by three triggered Snowflakes on Twitter yesterday, and I bashed on Jake "The Fake" Tapper, Nicholas Kristof & Dana Priest.

It was a good day. 😀

Any of those psychos touches me or anyone they shouldn't be touching in front of me - my good friend Lucille will have something to say about it... 😀

Agree it is a cogent analysis, although written in a little wordy and pretentious style. This goes to the many on my mailing list.

Psychodynamics and psychological decompensation. I’ve got to write those two down.

There must be some vestigal benefit in this behavior for undeveloped societies for it to be so prevalent. Maybe it has to do with some ancient mating behavior.

Naw, I was just thinking, for 8 years I’ve avoided liberals, but they don’t avoid us, they engage us with craziness and are particularly compelled to break up get-togethers.

They may be displaying some vestigial gene pool isolation tactic. Many times at the root of crazy behavior is since-transcended mating instincts, especially when it’s widespread and spontaneous.

This is denial on steroids - I don’t think they’ll ever get to the acceptance stage.

The amazing thing is that all these actions do is remind everyone else that the LAST thing we want is for the nutters to be running this country.

Nutters never see it though. Didn't see what the rioting of '68 created and won't see it today - which is good ... for us. Do wonder when or even if the dims up for replacement in '18 will get them to chill.

The author has, I suspect, a linguistic tongue poked firmly into her cheek - it isn't easy to write like that and retain a vestige of semantic content. At the root of her case, however, is one particular "suicidal German philosopher", Nietzsche:

Anthropogenic knowledge cannot provide the underpinnings of an absolute and unchanging moral code, therefore the left wing tends to have no such code to follow.

In short, "killing" God removes the source of moral sanction, leaving the individual subject to nihilism. Unfortunately, Nietzsche's solution, moving godhead to man, doesn't really work very well in practice. This is what the author means by anthropogenic. This can get downright silly - I have heard certain secular humanists proposing (apparently quite seriously) that the source of moral sanction ought to be "Be good for Goodness' sake." Apart from devolving philosophy to the level of a particularly embarrassing Christmas carol, this has the rather knotty difficulty of deifying the abstract concept "Goodness" and leaving the philosopher right back in the theological soup.

They can cheat. They can co-opt an existing moral code, and they do, adopting Christian morality to a sanctionless world: "Thou shall not murder" becomes a perfectly cogent proposition although the question "why not?" is carefully masked over with an appeal to collectivism: "because God said not to" becomes "because society is better if you don't." Well, what about the individual? What if killing that parking meter attendant makes me feel good, what then? Well, here we have the source of moral sanction being the entirely unproven assertion that what is best for society is superior to what is best for any particular individual in it. It won't do.

Hence the utility of religion even if you don't happen to believe in it, which argues a certain value in toleration even if one happens to be an atheist, or at least an informed atheist. And in any case, I personally always did prefer "Joy To The World" to "You Better Watch Out" as a source of moral sanction. More upbeat, dontcha know.

And by the way, I am so stealing "Midol March".

Nietzsche fan here... Could you please provide the source for this quote?

Ugh. My poor sentence construction implied that Nietzsche wrote that, sorry. Tyler wrote it.

I think it simply boils down to “”When you’re wrong, you’re wrong” and the lefties are wrong on every issue. If they don’t like America they need to move. Of course, they would never leave the best country in the world ...or its entitlements..
