Not much can get between senators and a recess. Except, perhaps, FBI Director James B. Comey.
Members of the Senate Intelligence Committee, along with ex-officio member and Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer, huddled for a total of more than two hours on Friday with Comey.
The FBI directors visit was not announced publicly, and its possible members of the Capitol Hill press corps only found out because he was spotted in the hallways and entered a secure room used for intelligence briefings.
But leaving that secure room in the Capitol Visitor Center, senators declined to even confirm the presence of the FBI director, much less the substance of the meeting. Those who did talk generally only gave no comments or referred questions to Intelligence Chairman Richard M. Burr and ranking member Mark Warner.

If it turns out the way I’m hoping it will be a day worth celebrating.
Show where the bodies are buried???
Why he didn't prosecute Hillary???
What does he know and when did he know it???
Taking down the steps and pulling the plug to ‘drain the swamp’ him with it???
I think the media accusation about Russian hacking were current and it would have looked like Trump was blocking investigation if he’d replaced Comey at that time. My opinion, anyway.
So Schumer and McCain weren’t there? Interesting.
Comey is a snake. Also recall that “deep throat” in watergate was an FBI assistant director who leaked crap just to damage Nixon because he was passed over.
McCain out of country and Schumer tied up in Pruitt vote with Graham......?
Hmmm.
Timing of the meeting is very interesting. No Schumer? And The obvious story from CNN that it was the Russia thing probably means it is not Russia.
investigating Russian efforts to meddle in the 2016 U.S. elections
I think FISA warrants were discussed. FISA can keep it sub rosa so the senators just have to squirm until Sessions announces them, if that’s what happens. Two hours is a long time just to touch on evidence that will be presented in the cmte hearing. We have to watch who goes on the Sunday Shows tomorrow and what their demeanor is.
Monday may be the most gratifyingly schadenboner day in history.
I agree. Christmas may come very early this year.
Great story, Grampa Dave. Loved reading it. The Japanese fleet sailing to Midway was foolish. Sending the message by flashing light Morse Code would have been far more secure. Loose lips sank 3 Japanese aircraft carriers at Midway: the Imperial Navy never recovered. Nor was Hillary ever able to recover from her security mistakes (and fraud).

It’s Trump. He will skewer them publicly they talk and they know it.
Go Daddy!
Best first-30-days of a Presidency, EVAH!
That control and lack of radio security ended Yamamota life/career later in the war when his plane was shot down.
Yamamoto was shot down after American code-breakers found out he was planning to visit troops stationed off Bougainville.
This is great. Shows the rat's Kamikazi potus candidate in full battle scarf!
The Rubio tweet is interesting. I wonder whether it came before or after the powwow with Comey. If after, we have a leak of the subject, and that would make it look like a watergate style assault is coming.
Since not much has leaked about it, I would wager that the Left heard stuff they didnt want to hear and some of it was about an aggressive push to find illegal leakers....
The rats of the left never discuss things with their pet mediots when critical parts of their anatomy are put into vice grip plirs. (Vise misspelled on purpose.)
If that tweet was after the meeting, then was he given an ok to break this news? Very strange. Trump said he had dinner this week with Rubio and his “beautiful” wife.
Two things: First, I trust nothing in which Comey is involved. Second: whatever was said must not have been good for the Democrats otherwise Schumer would have knocked over everyone in the building to get in front of a camera to pass on negative info on Trump and Repubs.
