Ours hasn’t yet. We have St. Augustine and it doesn’t have as many allergins as, say, Burmuda. That stuff gives me fits and I’m thankful we got rid of it. There is an early spring weed that grows like...well...a weed, called London Rocket [a mustard plant—who knew!] and it is nearly as bad as ragweed!
Y’all have WAY more flowering plants than we do. Lots of the beautiful things y’all grow won’t grow in this extreme dry heat. I’d love to move. LOL!
Cole Porter unashamedly wrote a waltz, something that was rapidly disappearing from American dance. The word is German for wonderful. This clip is from the 1953 MGM musical, and thats Andre Previn conducting the orchestra.
Lucky you. We have Bermuda and crab grasses here and AH-CHOO! Dang the luck y’all having something as bad a s ragweed in the spring. That stuff wears me out every fall.
We have a weed coming up now called henbit and it’s all over the farm. But hey, it’s something green, not drab brown! And it does have pretty little flowers when you look at them up close.
The one thing that has kept me from ever wanting to move to the west is the lack of greenery. The desert has its own beauty but I’d be so depressed without all the green and colors we have here. Just the few months of winter are bad enough.
