While Rex Tillerson is on his first overseas trip as Secretary of State, his aides laid off staff at the State Department on Thursday.
Much of seventh-floor staff, who work for the Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources and the Counselor offices, were told today that their services were no longer needed.
Remember, the "7th Floor" of the State Department was the 'SHADOW GOVERNMENT'.

It may seem odd but big bugs are easier to remove. The little bugs have civil service protections.
They should see the writing on the wall, if all they plan to do is obstruct, and make other plans unless, more likely, they have scurried into the woodwork.
So they will have to be smoked out.
Even stranger, a lot of these federal govt. welfare queens were making brave noises, you may recall like their Hollywood soul-mates, about quitting if Trump was elected. But now of course their tick-like pincers are firmly embedded in the taxpayers’ flesh.

Dittos a million times. The ship cannot be righted until you unload the UNWANTED/UNNEEDED TRASH.
I don’t claim to be an expert on these things but it’s my understanding that all
Republican presidents fire the top people in State. The Dems don’t have to do this. Trump isn’t the only one who does this. The main reason the National Security Council is so important is that they are all fireable and so Reps use them as a replacement State Department.

You can always close the Department. Reform and rename another department. Hire only good people.
