The fallout from the resignation of National Security Adviser Michael Flynn is not over. We have Russia, leaks, and palace intrigue about former Obama administration officials laying the foundation to topple Flynn, who was knows for being staunchly opposed to the Iran nuclear deal. Guy wrote a post about the allegations. Frankly, Flynn misled the vice president, which alone is an act that warrants him being shown the door. Multiple writers, namely Damon Linker at The Week and Eli Lake at Bloomberg have noted another sinister angle to this story, which is the number of leaks of highly sensitive information coming from this administration. It appears as if intelligence operatives are willingly leaking intercepted phone calls with Trump officials (Flynn) to hamstring the administration from governing. Linker is no fan of Flynn, but added that dissatisfaction with a governing administration is handled through things called elections. It is not the job of the Americas spies to sabotage governance. Lake added that this could be just the beginning—and that more heads could roll (Conway, Bannon, maybe even the president himself.)
Former CIA analyst and U.S. Army Reserve Lt. Col Tony Schaffer was pretty straightforward in his Fox Business appearance today, where he said that Obama officials were definitely behind the leaks—and even named a few of them (via Free Beacon):
"Risk and Reward" host Deirdre Bolton asked Shaffer whether he thought leaks from the Obama administration were "the problem."
"Absolutely," Shaffer answered, saying the Obama administration was "directly involved" with the leak.
Shaffer said the blame lay "squarely at the feet of" the former CIA director John Brennan, former director of National Intelligence Jim Clapper, and former deputy national security advisor Ben Rhodes.
Schaffer added that Flynn was a smart guy and probably didnt discuss the area about Russian sanctions in the manner thats been portrayed by the Left because he knew those calls would be analyzed and reviewed somewhere down the road. He added that what Flynn said was probably no different than when President Obama said told then-Russian President Dmitry Medvedev would have more flexibility once the 2012 election was over.
Schaffer noted that what Flynn said—when he called these various foreign officials—probably went along the lines of youre going to deal with me, these are the issues on the table, and we might revisit them in the future. I agree thats not necessarily illegal, but misleading the vice president by offering incomplete accounts of the conversations is an offense that could lead to ones dismissal.
This isnt over.
I keep wondering about President Trump having lunch with Chris Christie this week. I think a lot is going on that we are unaware of. I’ve begun to believe that some of his tweets are designed to send the media and the haters down another rabbit hole.
Trump needs a mobile Cone of Silence.
Yes. Up with torture. If it doesn’t hurt, you’re doing it wrong.
I believe you are right. He does not forget.
I think that will come. No, I’m sure that will come.
Sounds a LOT like insurrection doesn’t it?
If you were Trump, who would you trust?
The gubment is not FILLED with barky accolytes. They are lined up like suicide bombers against Trump.
Brennan. Shocking /s
How many people does trump want dealing with this? Flynns job was to be his national security point man
Who put Pence out there on this issue anyway?
Flynn may be a democrat but he’s a 3 Star with extraordinary experience in national security - Pence is not
I suspect Flynn had an “ Al Haig” episode thinking his role was above that of Pence - and again, why was Pence even out there on this? Should have been Trump and Flynn addressing this issue as a nonissue and comparing any contacts to similar moves by previous incoming administrations to establish diplomatic channels
Like Senator Barack Obama did when telling Iran not to deal with Bush
Anyone mishandling secret, top secret, eyes only, etc. documents needs to be found, charged, tried, and if guilty, sentenced according to the laws. It needs to be done publicly and repeatedly. The Justice Department should be getting very busy, very quickly. Methods exist where all the suspects are told slightly different versions of a topic, and depending on which one leaks, the originator can be determined. Find them, prosecute them, make a public example of them and terrify the living h3ll out of anybody who has done this in the past or is considering it for the future. Whistle blowing is one thing. Leaking for political disagreement is another.
That was Liz McDonald filling in.......and I saw that interview with Tony Shaffer. President Trump needs to have discussions in the broom closets until this mess is under control. A special prison needs to be constructed for these subversives and their minions in the Demonrat party and the press. God help us all.......
Hey.... our omelette is gonna need some eggs. None of us ever deluded ourselves that breaking the Left would be easy.
I think it’s time to look into what Brennan did to Obama’s passport records. And then have the FBI forensics team examine his birth certificate. I don’t know where he was born, but I know that thing is phony.
Have you seen this ?
No quarter...Crush them to dust.
Hope he chose wisely>>> me as well. i don’t know who the 5 or so people who he has as his real direct reports. I think Pence is one so theoretically trump may have assumed that flynn knew he worked under pence. Trump might need to spell out the actual chain of command.

And all their contacts.
We did everything we could not to be forced into breaking them in the way they’ve earned. Whites -> eyes.
“This is going to get really ugly -
I remember the papers in Dallas in 63 calling JFK a traitor but this is 24/7 every talking head, all day and night. I think the president needs to get to a secure location post haste “
Interesting. Thanks.
Crap, back to feeling like I am living in a novel just like when #44 was still in office. Wish he would flush.
LOL Not a bad idea.
