I hate this method of politics by personal ruination, but if we had to lose one cabinet member, I’m glad it was Puzder. Not the right man for the job.

too many distractions with this nomination
Problems had been addressed but once the MSM starts rolling them out, you’ll never know that.
A lot of FReepers nailed him for being an illegal alien sympathizer as soon as he was nominated.
Explain. I’ve not been following. Why was he nominated? Why is he wrong for the job? What did the democrats/media squawk about him?
These groups that go around trying to unseal court records are the scum of the earth. That is how Obama got his big break, also. There should be severe consequences for their leaders.

Good. That was a bad appointment to start. He ruined Carl Karcher Enterprises and he hired illegal aliens. What’s not to dislike?
This is a good reminder of why the Constitution framers put in the “advice and consent” clause on presidential appointments. I just love our Constitutional Republic form of government :)

How can he be a serious candidate for the position, when he employed an illegal alien, and then after three years, once he and the Mrs. “discover” she’s an illegal, they pay back taxes and begin the process of helping her become legal? Pay back taxes? Why not be paying taxes all along, then, if they assumed she was legal? What am I missing here? One would think the Trump team vetted this man, with this particular problem, before putting him up for nomination. Either they didn’t vet him enough, or they knew this about him going in. Either way, they were/are derelict in how they handled this nominee.
He was criticized for hiring an illegal maid and being weak of immigration, but he would not be in charge of immigration as Labor Secretary.
He would be in a position where he could influence labor regulations, and there is no one with more detailed knowledge of the ways stupid regulations destroy businesses than the president of the National Restaurant Association. Choosing him was a masterstroke by Trump.
Good, he was an advocate for amnesty for illegal aliens and their employers.
Lost a democrat and now a conflicted Republican. Could be a lot worse.
Good. Now he should nominate Herman Cain.
At this point I suppose we should just let Schumer make the appointment.
