We're talking about a cabinet post in an administration, not a Navy Seal team on a mission in enemy territory. Sometimes discretion is the better part of valor.

Many of us admired and respected Flynn who appeared to be the right man at the right time. But lying to the VP can not be condoned, he had to go.

You can disagree, but the libs will treat this as a victory and go to the next target on their list. If he wanted to show his character, he would have admitted his mistake, and carried on. The liberals would have continued attacking him and would have left the others alone and they remained fixated on him.
He caved too easy and too soon. He surrendered; he did not go down fighting.
