You are right about perceptions and this fiasco will be overcome. I still disagree on much of what you say. The pendulum is going to swing back in the other direction too. This is a war and both sides shoot at each other. I still stand on my premise on taking out the Dems. This conversation is now over.

The term ‘liar’ is very harsh.
Flynn could have been more nuanced....

Right. Flynn also has a recent book (The Field of Fight) detailing the threat of Islam and how to survive it. Does anyone else in the administration know as much or even care? Certainly the full court press from the media and Dems prevents serious discussion of the threat, let alone formulating tactics on how to save ourselves from it.

The intel and the DOJ leak to the Washington Post and CNN. Pres. Trump has enemies in all government agencies. He needs to fire the Obamabots that linger to fight against his presidency. That is the biggest threat to our country now.
To: ManHunter
He served as the director of the Defense Intelligence Agency under Barack Hussein Obama. Nothing more needs to be said.
I'm sure he's got a lot of impressive credentials. I'm also sure there are plenty of other capable people who can fill that position.

You are right, a Dem wouldn’t have thought of forcing Flynn out over this. Nor would the popular media have suggested that the do so.

Oh, excuse me I did not understand that when you said this conversation is now over you meant that you get the last word when it arbitrarily pleases you.

Two problems here, and one is serious. First, Flynn lied so he had to go. Second, the intel community leaked his conversations to the media. There is a cabal within government that wants the Cold War reignited with Russia and that is the far more serious issue.
Concur, well stated.

You do realize that Trump was a Democrat most of his life too, right?

So you have an issue with Mattis (Commander of CENTCOM) and Kelly (Commander of SOUTHCOM)as well? Both of them served under Obama too.
And I assume you understand that the reason Flynn’s tenure at DIA was cut short is because he publicly criticized Obama’s policies - in testimony before Congress.

I don't think it was the talking to the Ruskie ambassador that bothered Trump. It was the lying to VP Pence that tightened the noose around his neck.
Trump may be outlandish in his behavior sometimes compared with past presidents, but that doesn't mean he doesn't run a tight ship. I don't think he cottons to his people lying.
Trump is a decisive manager, unlike many of the wafflers we've had in the WH before.

Glad you see it that way. There are a lot here and on Twitter who want to see Flynn as a martyr. He lied to Pence, which is the same as lying to Trump.
ESPECIALLY when it comes to Russia, there can be no screwups, no lies, no coverups.
Now, Trump needs a guy truly independent from Mattis, one who is willing to trace down leaks in the CIA and FBI.

I have reservations about both Mattis and Kelly. Neither one of them would have been at the top of my list for those posts.
