More rain is scheduled to start Wednesday night for the area and continue until Saturday.
If someone gets a pic if Jerry Brown in a raft, ping me.
Weather report - clear for two or three days, then four storms on way which means a five to seven days of rain (and snow melt)
On KCRA3 Facebook page there is lots of great aerial footage.

The video coverage of this disaster has really sucked. The first responsibility of society is to assure the entertainment of those not directly effected by these events. I am calling for a boycott of all products advertised while the dam failure is not presented to us in a proper carnival atmosphere. If and when the videos from the site improve, the boycott can be stopped.
Thank you.

8 hours ago, taking a big bite out of that ridge
Evacuation area, which was ordered assuming that safety ridge will hold (and the dam doesn't collapse!)
Another view of the situation
Another view, 7 hours ago.
Beginning Thursday we have a week solid of rain in the forecast. Who knows how much after that?
I think the theory about the ridge is good -- as long as you don't have major damage to the main concrete spillway. :-(
"A Few Good Dams"
"I want the water!
"You want the water? You can't handle the water!"
Obama’s Fault!
The hole near the bottom of this photo is the area of concern.
That is unexpected erosion below the face of the Emergency Spillway that has progressed backward toward the spillway face. Were it to progress too far, there could be a rupture of the Emergency Spillway that would expose everything downstream to the uncontrolled release of some 30 to 40 feet of water depth across the entirety of the lake; over 600,000 acre-feet of water. This is NO joke.
Scanner traffic is just now saying something about “seepage” along the dam itself.

is flow over the
‘emergency spillway’,
controllable by humans?
people have been using the term
‘use the emergency spillway’.
WTF does that mean?
looks to me like the emergency spillway
is just the
lowest part of the containment structure
California definitely doesn’t have a clue how to manage its water supply.I wonder who is in charge of the state? Could it be Demoncrats? What a coincidence.
Oroville Dam: Crisis highlights need for repairs to Anderson Dam, other California dams.
As of 2015, California oversaw 1,250 dams, of which 678 were deemed high hazard
Excerpt: Go to link below for another mess created by lack of proper maintenance due to our rats in charge at Sacramento.
Wonder what Moonbeam and his fellow rats spent our Tax $ s on after they destroyed Prop 187. It was not on maintaining our dams as over 50% of dams are in need of serious repairs!
all of those trenches they filled below the emergency spillway are going to now erode DEEPER on each side of the rock piles they put in place. I don’t know why they shut the water flow thru the turbines as well... they should have left some water flowing thru them if not fully open.
But stupid California liberals are told, and they believe, that there is still a drought in California....

How long does it take to tear out, re-compact soil, form, tie steel and pour new concrete on a rugged hillside. ( maybe 3000 feet worth.?)
