Clearly, the court believes that the US is the appropriate residence for the entire planet, and American opinion on the matter is of no consequence.

I don't think Trump beats his wife or stones her if she gets out of line. He doesn't seem to have pedophiliac tendencies and feel the need to rape women or children either. He's not a maniacal bomb strapping suicide killer who believes he will receive 72 virgins if he kills himself for the cause either plus he's not instructed to be a pathological liar by a false religion either.

Meanwhile, in an interview I saw on Drudge, Assad was asked about the situation here. Basically says it is an American issue but did say he wants Syrians to stay there and asked about the possibility of some refugees coming in who are terrorists, he simply said, Definitely.

The article noted that all the politicians, pundits, media, etc. talk about "white people" all the time.

I am not a lawyer, but having read the decision, I think it is pretty clear and a lot of people (including FREEPERS) are overstating the gravity of the ruling. Not for one minute is the 9th Circuit denying the legitimate authority the president has to deny foreign nationals entry to the US— they have no rights in US courts. They are nitpicking on one aspect of the EO— that due to the broad language of the EO it also has impacted legal immigrants who are permanent residents, with green cards, who are in the process of becoming naturalized citizens and DO have limited rights in the US courts, and has done so without providing a means of due process for them. A handful of these folks were travelling abroad, and denied return without due process. It would be easy to fix this objection by either rewriting the EO to exempt them, or by adding a clause that provides for review in these cases. Any legal eagles out there care to chime in?
