Took a part-time cashier position at McDonald’s in my early 20’s to help make ends meet while I was in grad school.
Three weeks later, I was offered the opportunity to enter the management training program.
You can advance if you want to.
She behaves as if someone owes her something.
Should our taxes support her?
Why?
She had the freedom to quit at any time. Are we responsible for taking care of her because she lacked the ambition to educated herself and improve her life?
Baloney!
JoAnn Wise: I should have gotten rich and received a big fat retirement for spending 21 years doing a job anyone else could have done! The amount of skill that was required to do my work was irrelevant! I should have gotten it just for being there!
Mechanical Engineer jobs have great benefits. How come she didn’t get a job as a mechanical engineer?
Why didn’t she save some money?
Trump has been President for less than one month of her 21 years as a cashier, and she blames HIM?
Maybe, just maybe, not advancing past “cashier” in a 21 year “career” is a good indicator of her drive and ambition.
No savings? No pension? But she shares none of the blame for that?
Being cashier, at Hardee’s, is not a career job. It’s a job designed for high schoolers, and college students.
She started out at a wage representing what she would be worth when she learned the job. In 20+ years, her wages went up but her performance did not so at the end she was paid more than she was worth. She was too; too lazy, too stupid, too incompetent. Now she bitches about Hardee’s since they did not GIVE her pension, lots of money and free stuff. Hardee’s is not Obama’s.
First job was for 3.02 per hour at a thrift store..
Fast forward to today and I work for myself.
I bill 60-125 an hour for my time (depending on how fast the work needs to be done.
I average a 1000 dollar profit on the cars I repair as a hobby..
Had I stayed at that thrift store I might have made management at some point. However. it closed a while ago so I guess I’d be out of a job.
I would NEVER stand at a cash register for 20 years.. unless that was all I was able to do. Maybe that is all she was able to do. but it does not sound like she tried to do anything else.
