I recall from about a year ago, the Israelis were talking about building a series of de-salination plants along the coast
since California was suffering from a heavy drought.
I guess radiation in salt water would make this effort useless.

The seawater contains Tritium from the Fukushima site. There is no way to filter it out. It becomes part of you when you consume it.
