Sir, I voted for you and supported you in both the Tennessee primary and the general election in November. I worked at your local headquarters in Cleveland and spent hours and days at the phone bank. I stood down the street from my local election precinct holding signs all day encouraging others to vote for you. My county gave you one of the highest percentages of votes in the country.
I have only had about one complaint about you since you came down the elevator with our beautiful First Lady, Melania. You continue to do this one thing I object to: to the extent that I must grit my teeth each time you do so.
Sir, I am an immigrant from New Zealand . I immigrated to America just like Mrs Trump and your own sweet mother did. I was in the United States Air Force when I became an American citizen and proudly wore my uniform to the naturalization ceremony. (and cried all day in awe and gratitude.)
Anyone who entered the United States without prior permission, and is living here illegally, did not immigrate and is not an immigrant of any sort.

What they have done and are doing has nothing to do with IMMIGRATION. They have not performed one of the several and varied requirements that our immigration laws include in the steps to being an immigrant.

I am an American citizen, now, but during the 45 years I have lived in America, I have always called those persons who did not immigrate, but came here illegally by the term our immigration laws use: ILLEGAL ALIENS.
There is a difference between me and illegal aliens; a vast difference. Immigrant is a treasured term. Please do not continue to call them immigrants. Please stop using the term that I have a right to as someone who DID immigrate.
They are ILLEGAL ALIENS. Please call them that.
