l Franken isn’t a punch line in the Senate anymore. He’s emerged as one of the Democrats’ most aggressive and effective questioners of President Trump’s Cabinet nominees. He’s generated numerous made-for-TV clips as one of the few Democrats willing to go full-bore against his party’s top targets—Jeff Sessions, Tom Price, and Betsy DeVos. He’s finally showing some personality in the Senate, punctuated by his laugh-out-loud exchange with Energy Secretary-designate Rick Perry. And he’ll be one of nine Democrats on the Judiciary Committee questioning Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, Neil Gorsuch. This is Al Franken’s moment in the spotlight, and if he chooses, he could parlay his good fortune into a bid for the presidency in 2020.
This is brilliant. The left still has not learned form when they lost the house, then they lost the Senate on the next election, and now they lose the White House at the next election.

I wouldn’t laugh. I’d take this very seriously. If laugh it off, just like the Democrats did with Trump, Franken could sneak in. Especially if the Democrats are successful at smearing Trump to make him severely unpopular.

There are also many of us making the assumption that the 2020 ticket will feature Trump again and that Pence will then be a lock in 2024 and 2028. While I would love 16 years of Trump/Pence, I'm certainly not going to count on it. I can't even remember the last time or if we ever had 8 years of one president and then 8 years of the former president's VP serving as president. The Reagan/Bush ticket almost pulled off 16 years but not quite. I guess some would say Roosevelt/Truman but remember that Truman was added to the ticket in 1944 after Roosevelt had already served three terms with others. Then Truman was only elected to one full term.
Point being is that with Trump's victory in 2016, anything can happen going forward. We are going to see more non-establishment or non-traditional presidential candidates.
They need to start storing fraudulent ballots in car trunks now.
