Nice. My dad drove the family to Biloxi every spring vacation during my teenage years. My grandmother lived in New Orleans, but Dad preferred staying on the beach at the wonderful old White House Hotel, decimated by two hurricanes since then. I truly, deeply love that area. Remember going across the street to the beach and meeting such nice, clean-cut young men from from the Air Force base—all under the uber watchful eyes of my parents, of course.
We loved Trilby’s restaurant in nearby town, which my dad, a restaurateur, considered the best restaurant in America. And I loved going over to N’walins to visit my beloved Gram. Nothing but xlnt memories from that location.
Welcome, Veto!....thanks for sharing such good memories.
I’ll bet Dad was watching. LOL!
Yes, Trilby’s was wonderful. I recall going there with family in the ‘60s and ‘70s. And speaking of the ‘60s, the White House Hotel has been renovated and restored, looking much like it did back then.
