DON’T GIVE THE BOSTON GLOBE ANY MONEY, NO MATTER HOW MUCH!!!
I think the mark-up would go to the newsstand guy.
I think the Globe would just get the usual price.
That reminds me of an experience I once had. About 30 years ago I hung out for a while with a Brooklyn-born Jewish mafia guy (I was friends with his totally straight-laced brother). After being kicked out of Canada for extortion he'd sit around and sometimes bet on the horse races at Aqueduct. Anyway, I once went with him to a local pharmacy to get a paper. As we're there I saw him grab a Daily Racing Form (expensive even back then) and a few other expensive racing papers and non-chalantly slip them inside a 25-cent local paper. Then he goes up and starts hassling the clerk about having to pay full price for it because it is afternoon already and the news is old. Then we leave the store all pissed off and says that they are just trying to take advantage of him. It was like something out of My Blue Heaven. At the time I was horrified but now I think of this stuff and laugh.
